I abandoned playing locally on my steam deck in favor of remote play from my desktop. It's not an option for everyone, and it's probably not a good option until we get some optimization from either the devs or of the proton layer. It really is a great game to play on deck, it's a shame it can't currently handle it.

For sure! That’s definitely the way to go, I’m hoping in time it gets sorted. I could play on desktop but I’ll wait and see.

​@@kingsalami217is Pacific drive any better now and my level of acceptable is it doesn't drop to low 20s constantly.

i was able to get it running ok on all lowest settings, definatly not the best option if you like graphics but it was playable. hopefully valve or the devs will come up with somethinf to have it run better. ilove this game so far, itd be nice to play on the go

Unfortunately, they didn't. The game runs even worse. No matter the settings, it doesn't go above 20fps. Seems like it's capped, for some reason.

Thanks a lot, I guess, I'll just wishlist it and wait a few months till the first wave of patches runs by. Shame. Looking at the graphics, it should run much much smoother.

Exactly! Again this is the demo from steam not the full release version but surely it must be similar? Especially when things like cyberpunk run great on the deck!

​@@kingsalami217dumb question is there a way to down clock the CPU to give the GPU more headroom and would setting fsr to sharpness 3 help it some.

The physics load with the car is fighting against the GPU for power. Sometimes in this situation it helps to set the gpu clock specifically. I think I’ll try it and refund if I can’t get it doable

Do you have the OLED model and are you using cryo utilities 2 with 4gb vram in the bios.

It doesn't play any better, unfortunately. Seems like it's capped at 20fps, even with all graphics on Low and screen percentage down to 0. 20fps. Tops 22.

Game is not even that heavy and the steamdeck struggles. Rog Alley & LegionGo runs great.

Yeah I’m not sure what’s going on? I wouldn’t have thought so, maybe it’s just the demo? Like iv said to a couple of others if cyberpunk runs on the deck there’s no reason this shouldn’t.

@@kingsalami217 Persona 3 tanks on regular proton, but with a SD running Windows or Steam OS on the current beta and proton hotfixes it works perfectly (without RT). So I would expect the same being the case here. Valve is usually quick on performance fixes. If not, always custom Proton builds. This definitely looks like more of a Proton issue than a clear cut hardware issue. I think you need to keep this in mind when you see obviously more power hungry games work a lot better than one that is clearly lower in spec. Not considering it makes your video seem a little disingenuous by not presenting this crucial bit of information.

Nah my 300 no name laptop have more power than that over 600 steam deck oled, NOT woth the price for that it is only steam and lagging in games like roblox 😂😂 That AAA games are made for it to play but if you play a real game on it it do not have the power 😂😂😂 For 200 ore max 300 I will buy it but over 600 is just scam

This is more of a game issue than a steam deck issue. Games like cyberpunk and forza play great on deck. Just an optimisation issue with the game or proton layer should fix the issue.
