Pac-Man World 2010 (CANCELLED) - Concept art and Concept videos

Yes that is right, there was a Pac-Man World game after 2006 that was in development, and it was unfortunately cancelled. As of now there is no known reason for its cancellation. What is know is that aspects were reworked into Pac-Man Party, and Ghostly Adventures might have taken inspiration from it as well. Regardless, finding this was bitter sweet to say the least..... It's nice to see that another World game was attempted in some way. But as someone who sees the potential in Pac-Platformers, and the World series (not to mention someone who's also unhappy with the current direction of the series) knowing that something as exciting and cool as this was cancelled.... well it hurts. It hurts like a dagger to the heart. I genuinely felt emotional watching these proof of concept videos. This is the type of game i imagined and wanted when i was 9, and i still want to play it. It just hurts knowing that a World game got cancelled. One that had so much potential too
That said, i should acknowledged that its unknown what could've happened behind the scenes that caused a drastic change in direction. Hopefully there exists a prototype or a beta, perhaps there may be footage out there. if there is hopefully it's discovered soon.

This is basically a Rayman Raving Rabbids moment. A sequel to a 3D platforming game on the wii and is later reworked into a party game

To be fair, unlike Rayman 4, we don't really know what happened to it. Maybe it was retooled into another Pac-Man game. Or maybe it was scrapped altogether? Or heck. Maybe it never even got past the concept stage.

The squash and stretch used for Pac-Man in these trailers are mesmerizing. Especially the mouth and tongue. Now I know where they got that for GA
I think this is what would later become pacman and the ghostly adventures surprising how it was originally a pacman world game
Pac-Man is just his memetic Pac-Man 2 self in 3D, aaaaand now I'm very disappointed looking back at this. To think: Bamco basing the Pac-Man reboot largely on this concept, and this version of Pac becoming a Smash fighter. Holy crap, this had so much potential.
This could’ve made for either a world 4 or a Pacman 3D platformer adventure game

In my opinion this is what world 3 should've been, I've wished this game didn't get cancelled.
It’s a shame this was only made to be reworked into a party game. At least PM Party was pretty good

While the designs for Pac-Man and the ghosts could’ve been a lot better (or just stick with their classic looks) this still was a great loss of potential, and would’ve been a whole lot better than just some party game (tho I kinda like Pac man party)

Well they could've used the classic designs and characters in Ghostly Adventures too.
The potential just wasted right there.
With the Pac-Man World 4 model being so similar to the Ghostly Adventures Pac-Man model, I have the thought that maybe they had always planned to update Pac-Man's design, and so when they believed they could have made something special and have something that would make new fans and fans of old happy, that's when they made Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures. They just didn't expect old fans to react to it negatively to it, the og fans saw this as an attempt to replace Pac-Man World which is was not by any intentions or means, just something that was made to make their passionate fans happy to know there's still something new to offer. It got to the point where the older fans began to boycott the new attempt to revitalize the franchise in their own hopes it would bring back the original Pac-Man World Series and stop the new one, only one of those two came to fruition. I feel like the reason why people boycotted it is because it was majorly different from its origins of the 3D platformer they loved greatly, along it being sudden and unexpected; I'm sure if Namco had made Pac-Man World 4 before Ghostly Adventures, things wouldn't have panned out the way that they did...

Keeping the classic designs (as well as making the new characters receive the traditional Pac-Man designs) and making the game as it originally was would make this a fantastic masterpiece for Namco. But hey, maybe this can happen if Pac-Man World Re-Pac has positive reception and both Bandai Namco and Now Production find this video out. If a game based on this happens, I would not only find it as fantastic competition for Cosmic Shake, I would absolutely love it and even get it.
Glad you’re uploading more frequently, now excuse me while I drown in a pool of my tears crying myself to sleep at the missed potential.....

That was apart of the video. As I said in the description, it's likely that this was reworked into Pac-Man Party, hence why some animations were reused
I know a lot of people are calling this Pac-Man World 4 but I see it more as a Pac-Man World reboot if anything. I guess we kind of got the game with Ghostly Adventures but not really(?)

It reminds a lot of a canceled Crash game called Crash Landed & it was supposed to release in 2010 but got canceled because Radical Entertainment went out of business

Great vid!!! The song playing is one of my faves from Pac Party, I believe...
It sucks to think that Bandai-Namco willingly passed on this creative squash n' stretch romp through lush locales, but then gave Ghostly Adventures, a comparably by-the-numbers take on a pac-former, the go head. (No offense to anyone that enjoyed the 2 GA games, but you gotta admit, this looked wild!) We really just can't have nice things, can we?

Honestly a shame. Coming from a Rayman fan i feel your pain.
During the development of the Pac-Man party, Debi Debbyberry chose to voice Pac-Man.

This does look awesome, wished it didn't got cancelled, This is what world 3 should've been in my opinion. If you liked World 3 your opinion is handled. I wasn't an fan of world 3 myself.

This is late but apparently there was going to be a Pacman game with Don Bluth working on it with and it was going to have a darker tone to it and for me that would of been fascinating to see a darker tone Pacman adventure, also what are the songs you used for here?

Your actually wrong about that. The Don Bluth Pac-Man game is actually something different entirely. It was called "Pac-Man Adventures" and started development in 2004, was scrapped, and had its conscepts reused for Pac-Man World 3 This game came after World 3 and supposedly started pre production some time around 2008 or 2009, but I'm not so sure. Also the songs used in this video are *Greenwood Grove suite* from Pac-Man Party, and *Scuba Duba* from Pac-Man World 2!!
I’ve never heard of this upcoming PAC-MAN World game before! They need a reboot or a remark to this Pac-Man game

Although it does suck that it got cancelled, I'm not particularly a huge fan of this pacman design, it really just doesn't feel like pacman to me.

Me too, the Pac-Man World 1-Rally dealing, on the other hand, is so good that might be the reason why it always made the most appearances!
I hate that they ever felt the need to change his design rly shows the littlest of changes can fuck sum up i never got into ghostly adventures specifically cuz that, nvr mind the gameplay and corniness of the show💀💀💀

Pac-Man's model is a bit odd, other than that, I love the enemies and environments. Totally see this as a Nintendo Switch seller.
How this game was supposed to be the fourth installment in the PacMan World series but was then reworked into a party game is similar to how RayMan Raving Rabbids was also supposed to be the fourth installment in the RayMan series but was also reworked into a party game.

This looks like Crash bandicoot, Rabids and Pacman had a collab
It looks interesting conceptually, but none of this feels “Pac-man” to me, replace the Pac-Man characters (especially Pac-Man, he feels more like a feral animal in the animations more than anything) with unique ones, then it’d probably be a really neat game

I like GA, but this one seems to have so much potential and fun moment. Pac man must go back to 3d, not stick to 2d.
Tbh I would’ve loved 4 this to come out. While it’s definitely different from the other Pac-Man games. I feel like the new design here and with the absents of ghosts fit with this world and make things so much more wholesome. Not that the normal Pac-Man games are bad and their stories are dark. I just find this more cute and cooler in concept.

Oh come on dude, we need a new 3D platformer Pac-Man game. The Ghostly Adventure games looked really cool in my opinion but they were for the stupid Wii U, and the 3DS version is a bit hard (for me) to find.

The Ghostly Adventures games are also on ps3 and xbox 360 :) Also your best bet at finding a copy of them is through online shops since I think bamco pulled them off store shelves
