I am becoming your fan sir. Two queries: 1. How to rebalance if debt is in PPF? 2. How should I have to calculate equity return percentage here? XIRR or annual return for that particular year?

    1. It can be done via reducing future investment + increasing equity investment 2. It can be identified based on current market price.

In order to protect from crash...or any downfall...can we buy insurance in the form of options...? In that case your loss will be not more than 5 percent...so basically you get more returns than from these 60 40 allocation

Sir. When we invest each time, do we have to invest keeping asset allocation in mind. For eg, if I plan to invest 1000 today, do I have to invest 600 in equity and ,400 in debt if I have decided 60:40 ratio?. Without even looking at the present allocation status of the portfolio since you say we have to balance once in a year? I was under the impression that we should make fresh investments based on the present situation. Thanks

@@gopalkrish8395 May be possible when portfolio value is small in initial stages. As time passes on when your portfolio is large, rebalancing only via changing the investment amount is not possible because of the large amount to be invested. So u have to rebalance the value in portfolio not the amount invested

After binge watching Pattu Sirs videos, I have just completed trimming my folio to just 3 funds from 14. Agg hybrid 40 percent, Multi cap 40 percent , NN50 20 percent. Feeling lot lighter now from the earlier clutter. As Sir said, was madly investing without rebalancing. Thank you sir for all the effort you put for us. Thanks Krish

Sir, changing portfolio per year may not be a correct idea because market timing (or valuation) may work against us. I think that the % of one's equity exposure should be based on the movement of the Nifty PE value.

kumar arul You could use PE ratio when you have direct stocks, selling the overvalued stocks to rebalance the portfolio will be a good starting point.
