I gotta agree with you on hating to work on Volkswagens and Audis but I've had 12 of them so far. The great thing about them is that it's super common for the cost of repairs to exceed the value of the car so you can get a nice car for scrap value. If you do your own work you can fix most problems for less than $100, it's just that problems pop up quite a bit. But I can't go back to driving a Honda or Toyota, the driving dynamics and feel of the VW are so much better.

I can agree on the handling and expenses with vw and Audi... Just not, not driving honda and Toyota lol. I know it's a little contrary to my logic. The engineering is a turn off with vw and Audi over Toyota and Honda

@@partsshooterActually, when I think about it, my '93 Prelude Vtec was way more fun than my 2010 Passat. It's just that nice Honda's and Toyotas are expensive but I only paid $600 for my Passat. Thanks for this upload, I tried replacing coil packs and it didn't work but after watching this I replaced the plugs and it's running great...for now

Dirko Gray silicone sealant is a good alterjative to OEM anaerobic sealer. It is sold by ECS Tuning and also many UK stores for Audi/VW applications, in this case, timing cover. I give you Kudos for working on other people's european cars. These 2.0t engines are a hassle to work with, way way too many variables on things to go wrong, not like Toyota/Nissan, is fixed and done. Audi VW are way over-engineered. thanks for the videos

I got the exact same misfire 😂 at first it was multiple misfires on all cylinders.. but I put R8 coils and Iridium plugs... N it didn't wanna start for a good 5 secs. Well I got to looking at the old plugs and 1 , 2 and 4 had carbon build up on em like a white sandy junk.. which I heard is basically hot oil drops. And #3 plug was black n gunked.. well today I went outside to check #3 plug n see what's up.. well it's wet n black... N I checked #4 n it's lil white. So I swapped 3 and 4 around plugs n coils n then checked the scanner... Same BS #3 misfire... And I thought about picking up a hot plug for #3 to get it to fire normally for a while atleast until I get the new pcv which i assume is bad considering #3 cylinder is sitting under the pcv well pretty close anyway. Now I ran Marvel mystery oil in both the oil and fuel n I went n put 91 fuel in because it's the highest fuel we can get within 10 mins because we.live in the Appalachian mountains in western North Carolina outside of Ashville. Well I closed the gap closer together on #3 and dude I gapped em all at 30 well I closed #3 down to 25 and it still is misfiring but...... But.... It isn't hesitate like It was it got power back n isn't stuttering as bad but still it's misfiring n will stutter around 3krpm 2500rpm ect but on acceleration now it doesn't hesitate like it was... So it definitely helped.. so I'm prob just gonna put a hot plug in #3 maybe it'll fix it until I get the new pcv which is most likely the issue.

  • @psiturbo

so what was the issue? If the spark plug is soaking wet in oil, you are in for a rebuild, and the longer you wait, the more damage to other components.

We got the same issue... I changed the ignition coils and put brand new iridium plugs in it.... And its still doing the same B's.... Legitimately same thing straight after changing it.. it didn't fix it.. but dude the previous owner and the dealership we got it from never changed the plugs... It still had the original plugs from the factory in it.... Lol but it's got alot more power but still missing. We bought the OBD2 computer so imma plug it in and find out WTH is going on with it.. it's got the K04 turbo and headers ect it's a fast car but that damn misfire is driving me crazy lol the engine light still on and starts blinking and stops n starts blinking again lol.

@@danman6969 The hard start issue solved I believe the mass air flow sensor plug seal was swollen so it was not going in fully But i only discovered that when the mechanic installed a new high pressure fuel pump, then he noticed that when he was putting back the plug ( since he needed to remove everything over the fuel pump to be able to install it) So after that all the symptoms related to hard start and stalling etc solved But i can not tell if it’s the fuel pump or the MAF sensor plug !! Still have the oil consumption issue .. mechanic said it need engine job done!! ( he believes it’s piston seals ..) Not sure if is that cuz I’m seeing oil on the back side of the engine cover (on the coils side) It could be head gasket!?

@@Kins432 I have very similar symptoms- huge oil consumption and a rough start. Has changed PCV valve, Water pump and intake manifold recently. Now found that everything around valve cover is leaking. Now replacing seals and o-rings around cam shaft magnet (WHT007212, 06H103483C and 06H103483D) , then applying Vacuum Pump Reseal / Rebuild Kit (RKX-VPK-009) and finally going to reseal valve cover. I hope that should reduce oil consumption a lot.

I just bought my sister a 2010 VW CC with 177,000 miles on it. The car was running fine and we did some maintenance to it. Replaced the oil and spark plugs. The EPC light turned on. We replaced the engine oil separater and it ran fine on the freeway until about min 20, then it wouldn't go beyond the 2 RPM dial. We were told the throttle body or the coils. But we're not sure. Can you give us a bit more troubleshooting ideas??
