Thanks for this - my car was throwing this code on my OBD2 scanner after I had gotten the car back for another repair. Turns out the mechanic had forgotten to plug the terminal back in for the air temperature sensor when he put everything else back together. Your video made it easy for me to find the loose plug.

Good video My 2010 Ram throwed this code over after a radio install. Checked and realized the tech didn't plug it all the way back in. Noticed the MPG went from like 17 to 13 too

can't it be that the pcm /ecm is just defaulting to 105 degrees once you put a 'band aid' on the AIT circuit by installing a closed new AIT sensor? it usually sits around 105 when it defaults but when you have a cold snap start like on a cold 40 degree morning the system struggles to start cus a CoolantTS at 40 degrees and a AIT sensor at 105 degrees will cause the injectors to over-fuel at cold start and this can foul the plugs. I would recommend doing a complete diagnosis before replacing any parts. Or you can try your luck and maybe it'll solve the problem.

Hi guys thanks for the awesome contributions! Question: I had the same problem with my BMW x5 n52 e70. Same code, same readings with -40, I changed the MAF erased the engine light and it solved the problem; and though the engine light went off the code was still showing in the scanner. This morning I did a live data test again, and the sensor showed -40 again. Any idea? Thanks
