कलाइवाले पहले पुरानी कलई एसिड से निकालते है और उसके बाद नई कलई करते है। पहले बर्तन साफ कैसे करते है ये नही बताया? पुराने कलई पे नयी कलई कराने से ज्यादा नहि टिक पाती। इसलिए पहले की कलई उतारना जुरूरी है। शायद मेरी बात गलत लगे पर अक्सर यही देखा गया है। पुरानी कलई उतारने की process भी ज़रूरी है।

Sir, I have asked so many artisans and they say it's absolutely fine to apply fresh coat of kalai on the previous coat of kalai and ladies used to do it this way at home in earlier times also as not everybody can use acid at home. And as far as the life of fresh coating is concerned, well it depends on so many factors like type of food you are cooking in it, how it is cleaned and what you are using to clean the utensil etc.
