2:55 "to which we will add a couple large eggs, which appear to be very excited they're in this" The eggs immediately make a phallic shape.. please Chef John tell me this wasn't what you mean't because I can't stop laughing!

Oh god I didn't even see the dick! I totally thought they just looked like tits.
Chef, I started a job at the cold station of a fancy restaurant a couple months ago, and your videos have saved my ass several times already. And I'm just counting specific videos/blogposts that I looked up in a panic because I had to make something in a big hurry, because it would be impossible to quantify how valuable the general knowledge of your videos have been. Thank you so much for doing what you do. :)
Pssttt hey Chef John, thanks for talking me to sleep. That's not an insult. I'm an extreme insomniac, and you have the best radio style voice ever and it relaxes me to sleep. Thanks, bruh! (Also enjoy your recipes just as much.)
I'm starting to think John is sponsored by a cayenne pepper company...

No, he just gets mercilessly pestered by the comments every time he fails to put it in a dish, whether it needs it or not.

Stop thinking.
I've been watching your videos for about a year now. I found you when I was looking for a shakshuka recipe and now I cant stop. You make me laugh so hard, and you really do teach techniques that anyone who loves cooking can pick up. You are my favorite youtube personality.
i would love to see more charcuterie. also everything you do makes me happy. thanks chef!
Personally I'll never make or eat this, but had to watch the whole video because....well.....Chef John! 👍

RosieLadyKnits Well. I'm vegetarian so I won't cool any of these meat videos but I still watch them all. I love chef.
I don't comment enough chef John, but I love your videos. You got me into cooking about 4 years ago and it's one of my passions now. Thanks for being so entertaining and making great food!
Terrific. I've got a freezer full of game and for some reason I've yet to make Pâté. This will now change. Good recipe from Chef John, looks delicious!
Thanks for this chef John. And thanks for making damn good food accessible, in general.
This looks absolutely scrumptious! Thank you for the recipe~
Thank-you Chef John! I do my own charcuterie but haven't had the balls to take pate on. Though I love it so.
Finally watched a Food Wishes video around the time it came out. It only took like a year and staying up way too long. Gonna go pass out now while dreaming of eating this.
The original pâté de campagne!!!! Nice!!!
Great recipe! (As usual) I will try adding hazelnuts and some dried prunes. Thanks for the enjoyment you give me with your videos, chef!
never seen anyone make a pâte, that's gorgeous.
I grew up with my Mom making something she called "head cheese" that looks a lot like this. My father is very elderly and now lives at the hospital and my mom still brings him and the other residents who live there some of this traditional (French/German) "head cheese". They go crazy for it. Thanks, Chef John. Along with another wonderful recipe, you've refreshed a very happy memory for me. :)
As always, there aint no pate like a chef john pate :) Love it chef. Thank you.
Wow. That looks really delicious.
This absolutely looks so good !
I made a country pate for the holidays, we ate pate for 4 weeks. It was delicious though. Great recipe.
Love the more frequent uploads, cheers for an other amazing video!
Love watching your video's at normal and if I am feeling risky .5 speed for some good hearty laughs, much appreciated.
"There ain't no pate like a Chef John cause a Chef John pate don't stop..." Lol, I love you John.
as always.. love from France
so enjoyable to watch and hear you, thank you very much!
Thank you Chef John! Time for a pâté!
Chef John never reminded me more of Julia Child than in this video... The pate episode of the French Chef is legendary.
Did Chef John sound a bit...faster in this one?

This looks amazing. If I had a meat grinder, I would be all over it. Definitely keeping it in mind for another day.
Man that looks amazing Chef John!
You are simply awesome!
Looks yummy can't wait to try.
Looks fantastic! I just love your channel! 😊
That looks really good. Wow!
Amazingly pretty and guaranteed delicious. Memories of your shooter sandwich video.
I like your videos even before watching them because i know they are going to be good!!
My FoodWish is a chocolate bread pudding! I see on your channel that you have chocolate pudding and a savory bread pudding. Now I'd like to see a chocolate or a Nutella (or any hazelnut/chocolate spread) bread pudding. Thanks John...
This recipe looks really delicious! It's so expensive in US!!! In France, le pâté de campagne is a very cheap and casual delicacy.
"Millions of Americans will continue not to buy that pâté" Lmao
Can't wait to make this! I just need to get a meat grinder...
"Before people turn off the video, let go ahead and cover those..." Nice save there, just that deserves a like
Wow! You just got a Kitchenaid grinder too! Mine came in yesterday. Except I'm not making pate I'm making bratwurst today.

Matt Michalak I'm also interested, what kind are you making? I mean, I love all sorts of Bratwurst, but Fränkische Bratwurst is still my favorite. Although Thüringer is not bad too

Klaus Klaus I'm actually not sure. It's adapted from a recipe I use at culinary school. It calls for mace and sage instead of nutmeg and marjoram.

Matt Michalak I'm not entirely sure about all the ingredients but I used to make Bratwurst a lot with my grandma when I was a child (I'm German btw) and as far as I can remember, her basic spices for Bratwurst were Marjoram, Mace, Cardamom, Salt, White Pepper, Allspice and Caraway, although she sometimes added Garlic and/or a little bit of Ginger. I'm not too sure about the sage tho, since it will take away a little bit of the "hearty" feel a Bratwurst should have I think. But who knows, maybe it'll turn out great, after all, you're the George Hearst of your homemade Bratwurst :)
Darn, I was hoping for more broccoli.

Wow John that is so good looking. Easy too. I love liverwurst. Which this seems better.
2:59 that joke was so good. xD
Wonderful, how long would it keep in the frig? The ducks at the local pond are looking at me and saying "dude, why are you looking at me like that"? How much potassium nitrate is safe? Enjoy the channel
Thanks for showing how KitchenAid mixer plus meat-grinder attachment performs. Now I won't buy those and just stick with 2 separate devices. One for dough mixing and one for meat-grinding. Oh, and that Pâté looks amazing. This will be totally my next attempt to make something meaty to put on slice of bread.
Thanks for sparing us from an extended close up of raw chopped liver. I've not eaten any liver in years, but I'd be willing to give this a try.
Your jokes consistently earn a heartier laugh than any Alton Brown Good Eats ever did.
i have never wanted to make a pate until now
"and those eggs are very excited to be in this video." haha yeah one minute later... ... Oh I get it! Its a penis!
You've made me consider eating something with liver. That is major. This looks delicious
Delicious. I'll try it.
This is a dope recipe.
Well done Chef John.
looks great!
This looks really nice :)
Oh men Chef John!! why oh why did you cook it!! that was a great mousse tartar !! it would go well with some f..f..f.f.fava beans and a Chianti. Love HL
YOU BETTER NOT BE TRASHTALKING THE SLAP CHOP
Love your channel 💕❤️️🤗
I've felt like you have been in a bit of a slump lately but this looks amazing!
I love your videos!
Superb. Thanks Chef :)

Yum... Pate!! Thanks Chef! :)
Will definitely be trying this, french style food is irresistible for me. Maybe a choucroute garnie sometime soon please Chef? EDIT: I literally JUST realised the excited reference.... took me a while. Heheh. ;)
Nice. I've made 100's of pounds of country pate, and this is a pretty spot-on recipe.
Love watching your videos 🙏🏼 great recipe 👍🏼 what can I use to replace the duck meat? Lamb?
🤗
hi chef John, would you ever do a kitchen tour?
super fun and funny! thanks bro!
Chef J - would the pink salt have time to work in this recipe? Looks yummy btw.
Chef John...can you do an amazing homemade corndog?
i don't think I'd ever eat this but I really enjoy watching you work plus your descriptions are just awesome! Btw....Happy New Year you sir!
That mincing shot was looking beautiful. Ever thought about directing a movie? ;)
You're the man!
I like the complicated ones too. And there there's the "... which appear to be very excited they're in this..." Fell outta my chair.
Fantastic! Thanks Chef John! I'd be interested to know what mustard you went for in the end though? :-)

This looks terrific, I might have to try this one. By the way Chef John, what knife are you using in this video? The one with the orange handle?
ur best chef
Can you just make this for me? It looks amazing
I was so confused at first! I have a lot of soap-making channel subscriptions & the thumbnail looked like an uncut "loaf" of soap... except... raw meat soap... It became so much clearer when I clicked the image. Eheh.
chef john i love you this is beautiful
I enjoy you so much !
Great Chef John, my girlfriend is singing S Club now... Thanks...
I loved how you anticipated viewers turning off the video. But they'd have missed the cayenne joke. Which was nice and subtle, unlike the uncommonness of this dish. . So I watched till the end. Mostly because I think you are a great teacher and I just enjoy learning how to cook better from watching your videos. But also because growing up, my dad used to eat all this kind of thing, so to honor his memory and what he taught me eat regardless of its stigma, I paid attention and am grateful for the world of adventure I've been cast into. (from a loyal fan who grew up on head cheese, liver sausage, pork fat sandwiches, Limburger cheese, and raw ground beef)
I bust a gut in almost every video laughing at your jokes. This ones up there on favs.
Gawd! I wish I wasn't so lazy. Great video, but sooo many steps & hours, I'd pay the $30/lb. Or maybe just order from you directly? 👍
Its cute how you say pate de campagne. You can say "de" like "the" btw :)
Chef, are you talking really fast in this, or did you speed up the audio?
Another kind of "meatloaf", popular in eastern PA, made almost the same way is srapple. Use only fatty pork and a couple cups of corn meal instead of the panade; cook for two or three hours; mold, cool and serve sliced for breakfast after frying.
anyone notice the constant tone of voice?

thanks chef john
My food wish is to demonstrate some other use for pork liver other than pâté. If you can do that then you have progressed from greatness to genius!
Salivating
"too which we will add a couple of large eggs, which appear to be very excited they're in this " 2:54 I see what you did there. Cracked me up haha
