5:48 A small clarification. You said as intelligence is from Y chromosome, it is from mother. But biologically Y chromosome is from male only. Female has two xx chromosomes only. That is how the gender also decided by male. Am I right?

I believe she meant to say that genes influence intelligence is on X chromosome not Y. Some research in medical genetics has published saying babies born with mental illness has mutation in X , which in turn signifies that X Chromosome influence more than Y on our intelligence.

Children are more likely to inherit intelligence from their mothers because intelligence genes are located on the X chromosomes (and mothers have two). Mothers do tend to have two X chromosomes, but they aren't identical chromosomes, and of course, they got one of them from their fathers.
