@@pranjal_pathak. there is no shame in learning. In fact so many times I learn from my own students. When any student comes up with a different method to mine in order to solve a question, I ask him to explain his method to me and then I incorporate his method into my teaching, and take his name as well that xyz taught me this method.

There is something wrong before the topic of forward bias and reverse bias i.e on the topic of depletion layer. Sir you said that the free electrons diffuse towards the p type semiconductor to fill up the holes which makes the n side positive but it is the valence electrons which move towards the p side which makes the n side positively. That is the concept in hc Verma on page 403 and 5th line after the figure 45.10

Sir here valence electrons are the free electrons which move from n to p region. Valence electrons in outermost shell are called free electrons.... Given in ncert of chemistry..
