Why does the sulfur from DMS attack an oxygen with one of its lone pairs? Don’t all the 3 oxygens have the electron pairs needed?

No actually I am from India and preparing for IIT JEE ADVANCE...... Actually I studied from a renowned book ( I can't write its name) that the reaction can be carried out with water vapors in presence of zinc dust..... Can you please help me about this.......?..... What is use of zinc dust..... Sorry but you have not mentioned it in the video.... It's an outside question....... Please help me mam......

Correction: Secondary alkenes form ketones.

Well, only if that secondary alkene is di-substituted on the same side of the double bond. The double bond will be cleaved in ozonolysis and, to get a ketone, we would need two substituents on the same side of that bond. Right! I believe all of this has been tested, studied and analyzed like crazy. I don't care for the lab work and prefer 'pen and paper chemistry' teaching the fruits of their research labor
