It's funny how initially you race to have a cooling system, but then after a while, you need heating

Generally areas just get hotter and hotter, but heating is useful to go hotter still. Plus this tutorial bite was mainly influenced by my Rim playthrough where everything needs heating!

I use a number of exploits in ONI but not the tepidizer exploit as it can be infinitely power positive with a steam turbine. A bit too game breaking for me IMHO

I prefer a metal refinery instead of a tepidizer since it also produces a product which you're gonna need at the same time as heating your base

Also a good source of heat, the only thing is you need a constant source of things to refine, and if you have a maximum temperature in mind that you stop the refinery. They definitely have their place, commonly in industrial bricks, but there are other applications that are better suited to tepidizers.

@@GCFungus given the vast amount of energy you need to dump into something like water to heat it up a noticeable amount I would have to disagree. Controlling it however is as simple as using some of the metal you just refined to make a temperature sensor and a logic wire, which you'll have sufficient amounts of after one or perhaps two operations

If you can hook a tepidizer up to a slightly more complicated automation system using a wattage sensor, you can even use it to run a steam turbine or two.

I'm very much a beginner, do you have a tutorial on how you made that closed loop to heat the base by chance?

  • @GCFungus

I think I covered it in the cooling Tutorial Bite, but it is quite straightforward. Make a loop of pipes and include one bridge to set the flow direction. Then to fill it, use a liquid pump in the liquid of your choice. To connect this to the loop, use a bridge from the pump to the loop and it will stop it overfilling. Then once full you can disconnect the pump and it will flow forever.

I have 70kg per tile and the tepidizer says its not submerged so why doesnt it work

The tepidizer must be in at least 400kg of liquid to count as submerged.

Nah, NVM. It works... It is just that I was using a stock bug fix mod that precisely fixes the tepidizers. It works and you can use the tepidizer to cool as much as you want and not even submerged.

LOL. so I did the math for how good the battery is at heating and according to my numbers the battery is 5X MORE EFFICIENT THAN THE SPACE HEATER🤣🤣🤣 Battery: 1.6666666(repeating) W (Power Leak) 1.25 kDTU/s 750 DTUs/W
