Oxford Canal: Aynho to Nell Bridge - A Time-lapse Narrowboat Journey.

Oxford Canal: Aynho to Nell Bridge - A Time-lapse Narrowboat Journey. 16th March 2018.
Most of my time-lapse videos now use a different frame rate. They will play slower, smoother, and longer. The new frame rate is variable, depending on lighting conditions, between 3 and 5 frames per second. Older time-lapse videos were recorded at one frame per second.
If you still find that they play too fast for your liking, you can slow them down further. Click the settings (gear) icon on the KZread player and select the playback speed you want. Remember to change it back to normal when you have finished as it also slows down the audio!

Thank you. I'm planning some more varied videos featuring the cats etc, but I'm holding back until KZread reinstates the advertising on my channel... They are taking a long time about it!

Look forward to seeing those. I think your current vids are an excellent "travel guide" to the Oxford canal. Look forward to seeing more of them and your new ideas too, when YT FINALLY re-instate your ads. Keep up the good work :-)

I notice that your bike saddle doubles as a handy place to lean on when you are cruising. Your cats don't hang about once you more up and they seem to come out in the same order too. Well that's me done for the night; it's almost 2am and the dogs are fast asleep next to me on the bed. Night Phil.

The cats are always very excited to explore our new stopping place. And it's always Bushka out first. Thank you for watching.

Really appreciating the time-lapse presentation of your videos. As a foreigner; also a past and future tourist, it is easier to get a feel for the area. Would you consider this part of the network is relatively bland? There seem to be fewer 'features' as such along this stretch; bridges, locks, villages etc. Not even much boat traffic although this wasn't peak season I guess. Cheers from NZ.

It gets very busy in the summer! The various attractions on the canal system are fairly scattered. I would say that the Oxford canal is one of the prettier ones (if you like countryside). Some urban canals are pretty grim, and frankly scary! You'll find that many other boating videos just focus on the highlights of the canal system and leave out the more mundane parts. In my videos I aim to be more comprehensive and show them as they really are, in their entirety. Also, my boat trips are fairly short. I rarely boat for more than 3 or 4 hours at a time. Most hire-boaters are moving all day and therefore cover much more distance.

Hydrolic pressure is an amazing thing, how it holds lock gates closed until the lock level is equalized.

Yes, I forgot to mention that in the narration but you can see I was struggling with that lock gate. It was very heavy.
