OX locker and Emergency brake holders Jeep TJ/LJ

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Back to work on the 1999 Jeep Wrangler TJ. Where in the world do you place cables for OX lockers? Also, my new Dana 60 rear axle needs emergency brake cables installed. The stock cables don’t fit any longer. #RubiKidd #jeeptj #jeeplife #jeeplifestyle

Your new set up is looking really good and should serve you well . I like how you ran the cables and solenoids , seems to be out of harms way . I with you Darren , I don't wheel hard anymore either. Take care and catch you guys on your next video.

I see and agree with your concern regarding the low and exposed items. The first time, we wheeled our LJ after getting it trail ready. we blew out a rear shock on a boulder. Those cable connections and brake calipers look very exposed for rock damage.

Time will definitely tell if this is an issue. When the shock blew did you just loose dampening or was it a bent shock.

Teraflex has their TJ Falcon shocks that have a reservoir that lays parallel with the axle tube. I always wondered how they faired out from damage. @@johnfitzgerald5158

I think I’m going to like them. Going the air route is definitely easier and which I was advised to go with from the owner of ECGS. Of course I didn’t. The servos are more difficult to find a place to mount but I believe they are the way to go. I’m still adjusting everything on the Jeep (bump stops, a few things coming up for future videos) so I will eventually do an update on what I think of the ox lockers with electric servos. One word of caution is watch out for the OX diff cover depth. The cover protrudes considerably more than an ARB or Ruff Stuff steel cover. The steering is really close and I had to make some adjustments.

Big fan... I would like to say I love that you guys take the time to show all the ins and outs on DIY . But I would like to give a little criticism . You swing the camera around at the part and to yourself enough to make a sailor sick. If you would keep the camera still or one of you be a camera guy it would double your subscribers. Much love!

I could see that in this video especially since I was trying to follow the cable routing. I could have used one of our GoPro’s but they have terrible light capabilities. I personally hate videos that don’t show everything so I try to cover everything to a fault I guess. Appreciate your input.

If you have ran either of these cables before how did you install them?

I got the same lockers for my new axles on my TJ. I wanted to go with the manual cable as well but as you mentioned theres really no room to mount them so I'm going with the electric as well. What length cables did you end up going with?

Pt# on the box is 46001-48-A so I’m assuming they’re 48” cables. Yah I wish I could have found the room for the manuel lever but these should be the next best thing. Throw the instructions away that come with the servos, it is incorrect and contradicts what’s on OX’s website. Good luck man.
