Overwintering Proven Winners Baby Tut Papyrus | Repotting & Cutting Back
Overwintering tropical plants in our homes in the winter time can be a challenge due to low light and low humidity conditions.
Give plants exactly what they need and it should be no problem.
This video covers overwintering papyrus for Proven Winners Baby Tut. This process also works for other papyrus including Proven Winners Prince Tut and King Tut.

Your welcome!
Great video! My least favorite part of growing a collection of Cyperus was the repotting... I would always wait too long and have a terribly root-bound plant.

I'm getting ready to repot it for it's stay out this summer, I'm afraid, lol. I'm having trouble with the tips still turning brown, even new shoots. ( I originally thought it was frost damage) Do you know what might cause that?

@@PetalsAndMetal Usually with brown tips on Cyperus, it's either a lack of water or a lack of humidity. Since you're growing it in the fountain, I guess it's a lack of humidity? Or it might be some sort of fertilizer/chemical burn (?). Sunburn probably isn't a candidate.

I bought two small plants at the the end of season . One is pretty rootbound. What should I do?

@@annettegentz2121 Is the crown/clump large enough to divide? If so, I'd try split the plant. Otherwise, I'd just recomend potting it in a larger pot.
Wow that baby tut is tall wow
Thank you for a great video! Where did you get the fountain, so very cute...I shared your channel with another You Tuber who had supertunias...thought she would like the video on over wintering them...she signed right up😊. We are both in Maine, so our zone is very close to yours..many thanks again..🤗

My sister found the fountain at Goodwill and bought it for me. It ended up splashing on the table too much so I won't run it a lot while inside. But it's still cute! What's your friend's channel?

Good morning well you got a great little find with that fountain.:) You could always put it outside you door, would look great...Her youtube channel is Birchsalt..check her out, she is a sweetheart...like you :) many thanks again..have a great week !
My King Tut plants were originally in the exact container you showed and I planted them in to a 10" wide pot - not in the ground. Can I just bring that pot inside for the winter? Or would I still need to repot them into a larger pot. I don't think I'll plant them in the ground next year either. (if they make it)

I repotted mine to give it room to grow because it was really root bound. If yours isn't root bound, it should be ok. Mine struggled a bit over the winter but once I put it back out, it went all gangbusters again.
My Graceful Grass Prince Tut has been outside planted in my garden all summer and fall. Is it possible to take the new growth and repot it in container and bring inside for winter?

I'd certainly give it a try. If you don't you'll never know 😊. I don't have experience with one planted in the ground so that's the best advice I can offer.
Hi, Thank you for the gorgious video Kindly I want to know what kind of soil you use for papyrus. Thanks🥰

I'm going to guess that I used Pro-Mix on this. I switch a lot depending on what's on sale when I buy.
