Oversteer or Understeer? Advanced Sim Technique Explained

This advanced sim racing technique tip will help you reach perfection when trying to maximize the grip usage in your four tires.
Everyone thinks too much about whether you should be oversteering or understeering, and not a lot is mentioned about the ideal point in between them.
Neutral Steer is the way to go. No matter where you're driving, iRacing, Assetto Corsa Competizione, rFactor 2, Rennsport, Gran Turismo, or real life driving, this should be your objective.
This video gets more and more advanced towards the end. Here are the chapters:
Oversteer explained: 00:00
Understeer explained: 00:43
Neutral Steer explained: 01:17
Get used to understeer: 02:16
Get used to oversteer: 03:00
Dancing with the car: 4:02
Oversteery or understeery setup? 4:48
Understeery vs Oversteery setup lap comparison 5:27
Why Oversteer is better: 5:59

Bonus tips: 7:52

This is quickly becoming my favorite simracing channel. Your video on "relax" has been highly helpful for me. This is a very timely video for me. I have been adjusting set ups on my most used car to negate the understeery charisteristics that I am most comfortable with. And yes, by doing this I have dropped over 1 second off my best time on the track where my league is racing this week. This video is a great description of over/under/neutral steer in a package that is easy to digest and begin to implement on track. Thanks for the video and keep up the great content.

In karting we do neutral steering all the time, but for a completelt different reason. Turning the wheels create friction, friction slows you down. When you don't turn your steering theres no friction therefore you can be faster

Oversteer demotivated me for a long time, as a casual sim player it took me bit long to dedicate to learn countersteering. Although I'm still too slow with ending a slide, it's so satisfying to handle it at all😁 And a few solid practices being baked helped a lot with analising and implementing, setup wise as well 😉 Pozdro666

As ive since discovered Trail Breaking and started executing the technique more and more, I break the ass end of my car our a LOT more. I'm still too new to know if this is a natural consequence of trailbreaking and like the way I watch how much power I put down on exit, I also need to take into account on the break pressure I put in? Or if its just a consequence of a car that is not set up. I haven't even broke into that hemisphere of RaceCraft yet. As a new student of being Fast I'm tearing through as much as I can as QUICK as I can. I've always took pride in excelling at new systems and methods quickly. But Racecraft is DENSE and I'm learning there are things I'm "Feeling" on the wheel, in the breaks, that are hard to articulate, you just kinda have to find it over the course of hundreds of laps. Laptime is still dropping as im on my journey, but I expected things to start getting harder and harder as my racing lines are cleaning up and I'm getting better. FIRST bit of expendable income I get I'm joining that Motor Racing Checklist mate. 100%

When i used to drive FF, you would go into a corner really fast, use the brakes to shift the weight and sort of flick it into the corner. Then mash the throttle to understeer out of it

When you notice that any tiny movement in the steering affects rotation, you're close to it. For example, when you understeer too much moving the wheel does little to the direction of the car
