    @@djsvrlaivwfofj yes but this is only well known because its cool. there are also plenty of players who become GM in there 20’s and so on. there isnt a barrier for learning chess as an adult like there is with piano or learning languages. at least not a big one

    Chaturanga means Four players Chess. Chaturnji means The smart one, in sanskrit.

    Chaturanga translates more to "4 pieces" than 4 players though which most likely refers to the 4 types of pieces that any side has (Queen, Bishop,Knight,Rook)

    Anish and Teimour are both higher ranked at classical chess though. But if Hikaru focused on his chess he would easily be better than them

    @@ym276 That's probably not true. Naka def would do better than his current rankings suggests, but he's been slipping in classical ranking for the past 5 years or so, much before his stream took off. He's simply a better speed player than a classical one

    Hikaru has positive score against all of the players in classical chess. He lost too many games against magnus that is why he is so down on the score board
