Thanks for watching! I love this new train a lot because it's comfortable and I can enjoy the view. Also, it saves me one night accommodation. I can start travelling in Chiangmai the next morning! Hope you'll enjoy other videos in this channel :)

Aewsome video ! I took the same trip when I visited Thailand 4 years ago. Not sure if it was the new train I went on but it was nice and I had a single bunk with a window. I think the overnight train was the best part of my Thailand trip. I slept so very well feeling the trains vibrating along the track all night. ChaingMai was so beautiful and exciting.

Thanks for watching. The new train has operated since late 2016 and I love it so much. Although it is long hours (than flying), but I really enjoyed the journey, watching the sunset and sunrise from the train. Wi-Fi is good on the train. The food is good. The facilities are new and clean. I might take this train again and again :):) Hey! And one great thing is that it saves us one night accommodation! Here are more videos from Chiangmai. I fly to Chiangmai often, but after I tried this train, I'd love to try again :) Last year, the new trains were replaced the old ones in 4 main routes (night trains) - Chiangmai, Ubon Ratchathani, Nong Khai, and Hatyai. So, people enjoy the ride more. Hope you will have a great time in Thailand once again :):)

This train is my favourite

This is how a sleeper train should be! A nice berth, floating table, electricity stations, wifi, sink, restaurant, and even a shower room. My country have to learn a lot from Thailand in creating a sleeper train. Have you ever taken a ride of Indonesia's train? Please do so and share your reviews for your subscribers.

I took both the old and new trains: Old train - Darker and I feel more narrow both the walkway and bed. Be careful not to drop anything into the toilet bowl as it will drop right out the train! New train - More spacious in general and brighter. It's also colder but once you use the curtains and blanket it'll be all right.

I must have had the old train. Mine left at 7:30 PM. The toilet was old so that was an old train. And the train was very cold. Good thing I brought a jacket with me.

I was on a tour with nine other people. The tour got the tickets the same day. That would explain why we got the old train that took over 13 hours to arrive in Chiang Mai.

Hi tm garcia, thanks for following this channel :) I'd suggest you sign up on the website, then you can buy the ticket online, up to 60 days in advance (pay with credit card). You can book with a travel agency in Thailand with extra cost; however, the night train is very popular, so it is recommended to book in advance to secure the seats (beds)! Yes, there are many people in Thailand in Dec. But the crowd will give us excitement! Everybody is happy travelling because the weather is soooo good!

There is a train from BANGKOK to SURAT THANI in Southern Thailand, then you can take a bus to PHUKET. However, it is much more convenient to fly from BANGKOK to PHUKET and there are many flights options. Have a great time in Thailand!

hey there! This might not be related but, is there any airport rail link from don mueang airport to bkk city? And how about other transportation mode?? Nice video btw, from Malaysia!

K zmann Thanks a lot for watching! Frim Don Mueung Airport, there is no airport rail link - just normal train, bus, and taxi. However, for Suvarnabhumi Airport, there is an airport link - around 25 mins to the city (BTS Payathai). Welcome to Thailand soon!

Thanks for the question. For some popular trains, it is encouraged that you book in advance (up to 60 days) via www.thairailwayticket.com/eTSRT/default.aspx?language=1 But if you are not sure yet, you can walk in any train station to buy the ticket once you are in Bangkok. Enjoy your trip!

Is the train special express train no 9

Maybe I'm missing something, but why did you go to the train station and buy a ticket, then turn around and buy the same ticket online???? otherwise GREAT video...and if you want 1st class cabin as a solo backpacker, i take it you would have to buy a ticket for the whole cabin, both upper and lower beds???

How many hours from bkk to Chiang mai by this new lovely train

buddy man About 12 hours; from 6:30pm from Bangkok train station arriving Chiangmai train station early next morning. It is a joyful ride. There is a food cabin with wi-fi internet. Enjoy your trip!

When we book tickets online, so when we arrive we have to show our booking to the foreign information right?

You have to print e-tickets out and keep it with you for inspection on board the train. Hope you enjoy other videos in this channel too. Have a great trip!

But in website 12go.asia. They said passengers can’t bring s-tickets when boarding in train station. But can we book online and go to train station to pick up the ticket

This is what I always do. I think their website has different process because they might be an agency. I do not know. Thanks for the info. Enjoy the train!
