    Hey Lilly, just a tip: you shouldn't put mushrooms into plastic bags, preferably use a basket (or some kind of container with a nice air flow). In any kind of bag, but plastic is the worst, the mushrooms can dampen easily and that can make you sick (diarrhea and such, even an actual poisoning). So better watch out for that next time :) I'm also curious if you would keep the charcoal in an actual survival situation? Take care!

    Your shelter is a very nice getaway from all of the hustle and bustle of city life or suburbs in my case. Sometime in the near future I'll be searching for a large wooded property where I can hide out every so often. My son bought 37 acres and is building a a log cabin right in the middle of his property. I think many of us want to return to a simple quiet life and just enjoy what God has given us. In the US we usually don't build a fire from the top down. We put the small twigs under the kindling so the rising heat warms the larger material, starts the distillation of flammable fractions in the larger pieces, and grows from the bottom up. We have so much to learn. Nevertheless, that really is a "super shelter. With a few more days of work it could have a full height roof. WELL DONE. I am pretty sure that anyone who built something like that on public land in the US would be fined many thousand dollars and probably sentenced to a few years in jail. Like I said, in the US, we have a lot to learn.

I live in a world thats totally opposite from all the nature and wild but watching your vids makes me feel like I'm on a camping trip with you~and also, you're such a badass woman! From building your own bugout crib, chopping trees to making your own bow and arrow, I just admire your skills! Just wanted to show appreciation for your work, and also just a personal preference, but I really think your vids really need no background music. The sounds of chopping trees, birds chirping and rain or snowfall is the most beautiful sound that goes perfect with your vids~I feel like anything else thats added on takes away from the beautiful work you do. Just thought I'd put in my two cents! Keep up the great work~I support you either way!! Love from Japan.

Here in Pennsylvania, feeding deer wouldn't be allowed in the Fall, as we have Archery Season in late September through October and then our Regular rifle Season, in late November to early December. It would be see as baiting game. I hope I didn't bore you. I'm glad to see you back out doing what you love. Thanks again, for the trip, Lilly.

    In the U.S. Marine Corps, we were taught to NEVER EAT MUSHROOMS if we are in a forest or jungle survival situation. There are so many variaties of mushrooms that it becomes difficult to tell which ones are safe and which ones are poisonous. The good mushrooms taste nice, but do not provide any serious nutrition. So it is best to leave them all alone, unless you have studied which ones are safe to eat.

    Love your videos. And while I'm usually not one to critique, I do have to suggest that next time you go looking for mushrooms, don't use a plastic bag or any solid container. Use something like a wicker basket or a netted laundry bag, onion bag or anything that is vented and not solid. It will allow the mushroom spores of the ones you picked to be able to disperse and scatter on the ground as you're walking, thus helping to ensure you can have future harvests.

    Rogue Antilles - I agree. The best design accommodates either a rechargeable or a disposable (like some point-and-shoot cameras have). That said, if you buy 4 of these specialized rechargeables and keep them in your bug-out supplies, realistically this is going to last a good long time. This NiMH batteries probably can be recharged 1,000 times, or once a day for three years maybe. Get a solar charger with USB output, and you're all set.

    I basically camp everyday all year round. I live off grid in a 16x20 cabin in the mountains of Mexico . No running water no electricity. But i do have alil solar to charge my pre paid cell phone. I come out the mountain only 4 times a year for supplies. I love it. I grew to not be very social. So instead of being a crab to everyone. I moved out of the city. And went completely off grid. Knowone messes with me. Cuz i dont have anything to mess with. There is some locals that come around. But their doing their own thing and dont bother me. Cuz i dont bother them in their activities. Legal or not.. Lol. U have way more freedoms in Mexico than u do in America.

    It is a wild boar, a small one. The "cheeks" are massive which indicate a strong jaw. (so not a deer) The two holes between the eyes are typical. That's where the blood vessels go through. They are big because the boar has "strong" mussels in its snout for digging.

    i NEVER KNEW THAT ABOUT DEER FEEDING AS A FOREST-SAVING STRATEGY. Living is Learning. So, I am pleased you could have an African Adventure. Still, I best like your 'Bug Out Camp' videos: as an adolescent, I built a cabin in our woodland. Then, I went to University and never stayed overnight there again. My life took me other places. Thanks very much for the caraway seed tip in cooking mushrooms. I can do that!

    Lilly, do you have poisonous viper snakes in the Austrian forests? And what about non-venomous snakes in Austria? Thanks from Kalamazoo, Michigan, U.S.A. !!

  • @tubekulose

    @tubekulose

    2 жыл бұрын

    This answer comes a little late: In Austrian nature we have both venomous and non-venomous snakes. non-venomous: smooth snake, Aesculapian snake, grass snake, dice snake venomous: common European adder, horned viper, meadow adder The venom of European adders is quite painful. It's up to three times stronger than that of most rattlesnakes but as they can only inject a very small amount of poison it is extremely unlikely that a human will die from it after being bitten (except for very little children). The venom of the horned vipers is more dangerous and leads to necrosis. You will bleed a lot without feeling any pain. dizziness and tingling follows. But all of them are very shy animals, that avoid any confrontation with people by fleeing as fast as they can. Best regards from Vienna, Austria!

    Love your videos. I think you're fantastic! But you need to improve your axe swing. Start with your hand at the head of the axe and your other hand at the bottom of the axe whilst swinging down you bring the upper hand closer and slide it down the axe handle. You'll have better aim and you'll spend less energy. Also you can switch hands and get a much better workout

    I believe she prefers the ergonomics of the bow saw. Silky saws are excellent saws for professional arborists and those who have adapted to their proper use and vulnerabilities. Just as I would not allow someone without the proper understanding to use one of my instruments, I wouldn't hand on of my Silky saws to a novice without the expectation of damage or breakage. My saws are all folders up to a 650. Some people have preferences and some have negative transfer from previous experience. It's freedom of decision and a blessing to have the choices. 20mm enjoy your Silky! If I were constructing INCH bags for a novice group, I would go with Bahco for folders. Some bow saw blades would come along also.

    Lilly, for the sake of conservation, encourage your viewers to collect mushrooms in a cloth bag, not plastic. You can shake the bag a little as you walk to spread spores so more mushrooms will grow. Plastic bags will prevent the release of spores. I know that you care about nature and this is important. An old pillow case will work.
