VW dealer wanted $750 to replace ac/heater blower and motor + labor . I pulled the old unit, oiled the two bearings at each end, and it lasted another year. Finally went to Amazon, as all the wreckers didnt have one either. Paid $120 for a new one, and it works great.

thats cool. Everyone should work on their own cars to some extent.

Another Great Video! i find with my own cars, anytime an engine overheats, its best to replace the thermostat also. and check the fan switch and temp sensors, sometimes the overheat fries them too. my cars are Toyotas, Hondas, and VWs.

I DOUBT YOULL SEE THIS BUT YOUR REALLY SMART WITH VDUBS. I HAVE AN MK5 vw gti and its not throwing me any codes but check dtc faults and module faults. No cel lights either! It cranks but wont start. Could it be my ecu???

It could be a lot of things. FInd the videos regarding no starts. Fast-Tec is the procedure. #1 fuel #2 Air #3 spark #4 Timing (spark timing) #5 timing (cam timing) #6 Exhaust #7 Compression.

In your experience how prone is the thermostat to failing on a cjaa?(mileage wise) Definitely the most pita thermostat to get to.

we have done 3 or 4 over the years. Thats not a lot, but its a whole assembly. With the assembly and the difficulty its expensive.
