Overengineering UNDERGROUND TRAIN LINES in Mini Metro!

Ойындар

In part two of Mini Metro, can I take what KZread commenters taught me to beat high scores? Or will I just end up confusing myself? The prequel to Mini Motorways, Mini Metro is a fantastic minimalist puzzle game where you design and manage train networks in the style of underground subway maps. I looks fantastic, but will my professional engineer skills help me in Mini Metro?

About Mini Metro:
Mini Metro is a minimalistic subway layout puzzle game. Your small city starts with only three unconnected stations. Your task is to connect them with subway lines. Everything but the line layout is handled automatically; trains run along the lines as quickly as they can, and the commuters decide which trains to board and where to make transfers.
However the city is constantly growing, along with the transport needs of its population. How long can you keep the subway system running before it grinds to a halt?

If you want a more efficient network, try placing the stations on curves of 90 degrees or more (including straight lines of course). Stations on curves below 90 degrees must be stopped at, even if they have no people waiting (this is to mimic the fact that in real life trains can't complete such a sharp turn at a station without braking). If you use only obtuse angles the trains can pass through without needing to stop Love the video!

I'm glad you've taken comment advice to heart :) Some more advice, you can always throw trains around. If they're on the yellow line, you can move them to a different station on the yellow line, or a different coloured line entirely. It's a cheap way to stop timers from running

@@JoshuaJohnsonHou well when circle lines get to capacity, instead of adding more trains, I add a line that connects circles lines together. I also aim targets that are rare and that follow logically. I rarely have 2 shapes follow onna express line. That way it takes a weight off circle lines, is super efficient even with only 1 train and connects the rare stations faster to each other. I was able to score over 2500 on Paris using that. Still only been playing a few days. Developing more strategic ways of doing things. Right now I like a big round line with other crossing like a X. Hard to explain here.

You're now almost as good as me, despite you having played a lot less, so I only have two pieces of advice that you may follow if you choose: 1) Train lines crossing each other anywhere other than at a station will slow down any train at the crossing. It can sometimes be the right thing to do anyway, but it's something to be aware of. 2) It can be handy to keep one line and train in reserve to quickly fix an overcrowding station. Place the line, let the train load and depart, erase the line. The train will continue to its destination, and then return to your pool of placeable things. The downside is that you're using one fewer lines on an ongoing basis than you technically have available.

Maybe when you start to have bad congestion at certain stations, it's time to delete the lines and rework them again? Once you start getting a lot of stations on the board, you'll be able to make more efficient routes by removing the lines and making new ones :)

for lines vs carriages you have to keep in mind, carriages increase your capacity, while lines only improve your shape organisation. you need a healthy mix of both. also circlular lines arent strictly better, you can control which stations get frequented more or less with non-circular lines, while on circular ones all get frequented equally.

In real life? A lorry with a crane on it (and convenient service roads running along the line at the correct places). The only unrealistic thing in the game is that you can lift and move a train loaded with passengers, which probably wouldn't fly with the train company's health and safety department in real life.
