Overcoming a Convergence Problem in Metal Plasticity Using Ansys Mechanical - Lesson 3

Ғылым және технология

Metal plasticity is one of the most frequently used material nonlinearity options available in Ansys Mechanical. When included in an FEA model, metal plasticity may sometimes present a convergence challenge. This video focused on the convergence problem caused by improper multilinear plasticity definition for materials. It uses an example model to show the problem and provide a solution with an explanation. This video also includes different techniques to diagnose a convergence problem from both solution information and postprocessing of the results.

Good explanation. I have a question that. Multilinear plasticity model is suitable for polymer as well or do we have any difference?

In most structural codes, solution divergence is desirable to predict failure.
