Over $3.5 Million in Illicit Drugs & Loaded Firearm Seized

Region of Peel - Patrol officers from 12 Division Uniform along with 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau and Specialized Enforcement Bureau have charged a Mississauga man with multiple firearm and drug trafficking offences.
On May 31, 2024, at approximately 2:46 p.m., police received information that there was an individual with a firearm in the area of Ponytrail Drive & Fieldgate Drive in Mississauga. Patrol officers attended the scene and the suspect was immediately taken into custody. Following an investigation, 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau along with the assistance of the Specialized Enforcement Bureau executed a search warrant at a Mississauga residence.
As a result of this investigation, police seized a total of 117 kilograms of Cocaine, 4 kilograms of Methamphetamines with an estimated street value of $3.5 Million, a quantity of Canadian currency, along with a loaded .45 Calibre Glock Handgun and 9 rounds of ammunition.
Rashid Al-Hasan, a 20-year-old-man from Mississauga, was arrested and charged with the following offences:
• Point Firearm
• Disguise with Intent
• Carry Concealed Weapon
• Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
• Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
• Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing There was Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
• Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
• Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition Knowing Its Possession is Unauthorized
• Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking X 2
He was held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
