The reason you think is increased is because that’s what the TV shows but it’s not fact and most people on television like on the news meeting will tell you the crime is decreased OK they just happen to be covering the crime that is therecrime is decreased considerably the past few years

I'm glad we reevaluated the drug war and decided it was a waste of time and impossible to win absent making the country more secure than a prison... oh wait nevermind, full steam ahead let's keep dedicating those resources boys! Government; it's the incarnation of insanity. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Imagine a world where we treated addicts like humans and helped them get off the streets and treat the issue for what it is, a mental health and societal issue. NOT a criminal issue. I argue that the trillion + dollars wasted on the drug war could have been better spent on treatment and recovery social services and education. But what do I know? The rest of the democracy will remain ignorant apathetic and insane and my vote will never matter, why did I ever waste my time trying to think up a solution? 😂🤣

If drugs were legal there wouldn't be the money in it for criminal organizations. Countries where drugs are legal have much lower addction rates. The US holds 25% of the world's prisoners mostly for drug offenses yet they get cheaper, purer and more plentyful every year. They have spent trillions on the drug war. It doesn't change anything. The dealers below him just moved up the ladder one rung that is all. When you arrest the older more experienced criminals usually younger more violent less stable criminals replace them also.

@@stoptrudeau42 I respect you immediately for being cynical, and I agree no major city in Canada should have a fuckin skid row. But legalization didn't cause any of the problems, the police, provincial governement, etc had been failing miserably for years to stop the problems before everything really fell apart. Legalization was a way to wipe their hands of the failure to enforce existing laws by removing those laws. Downtown Vancouver is not what Liberty looks like. Its a scape goat for the failed war on drugs. Legalization isnt a good idea in this environment, its not a good idea in any environment. It should be an argument against black markets, not an argument for skid row. This is what a psy op looks like, its a false equivalency that every canadian has been beaten to death with. Legalization is supposed to remove organized crime from the equation with proper retail and oversight like cannabis. We are not arguing in favor of open air drug markets like Vancouver.

How decriminalizing drugs would reduce the amount of overdoses? Don't see the logic here. If someone wants drugs and even overdoses, will do it no matter drugs are criminalized or not. So far, the decriminalization of drugs has not reduced the number of dug addicts or overdosing, on the contrary. Even if decriminalized, a black market will always exist, laced drugs, competing with regulated market, meaning a much bigger market, meaning different prices according to quality, but that won't decrease the number of drug addicts and overdosing. Easiness and more trustful sources of drugs, means more drug users.

Taking nothing away from this successful operation, I congratulate them but, until the judicial system decides to punish the people who facilitate the illicit drugs coming into the country, nothing will change. Even a haul like this represents a temporary blow to the supply and they are willing to accept it as a cost of doing business. A lot of time and money is spent doing these operations but we need the government to commit to funding technologies at the points of entry, from land, water and air, to make a serious effort to stop the flow north. Currently, people are obviously being paid off to look the other way so, technology is needed and available. Seizure of vessels, vehicles, guns and money as well as severe consequences for those involved, NOT BAIL!
