Yes sir Robert. I know people who carry them as well. Great assets abs whatever gets you out at the time is a godsend for sure👍
Great tip on the pin and the lever to get unstuck. Clamping from the top equals less chance of snowmobile snow guard bouncing up to undo the hitch pin . I have a tip to share with you. Use a piece of bail wire through the eye of your hitch pin and attach to your machine bumper. If the pin is dislodged, it will dangle from bumper and you may not have to replace it or try to find it in snow. Regardless, I always carry a spare. Your videos are relaxing to watch. I find myself smiling as I watch them. Take care out there!

No problem at all: 1.5 cups of flour 1 tbsp of baking powder pinch of salt tbsp of brown sugar (optional) mix water until you get a 'pizza dough' consistency
The weight pushing down causes pin to pop open
@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors
3 жыл бұрын
Yes sir....that and the snow flap striking it and pops the pin clamp off👍

The pin tends to works itself up, especially with a lot of weight in the sleigh. Also, if the snow flap gets pushed up it drives the pin up hard enough to knock the safety clamp off
@ecttreker9816

I would say the snow flap plays an important part of releasing the pin when it's not installed bottom up.

@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors

I think youre right Steve about the tracking collar. I want it mainly for when Willow is out by the cabin door and I'm inside. When I'm out with her she never leaves my side. She doesn't even roam much when I'm inside the cabin, however, there have been sightings of wolves around my cabin recently, and that concerns me more than anything. Chuck, great video. Loved the tips so much this is the only time I’ve EVER commented on a KZread video. That should tell you something. Two quick questions. It's just way easier to turn the pin upside down than turn the sleigh upside down I guess lol .. it has to do with the weight of the pin. Could you not use a GPS tracker for vehicles and somehow attach it to Willows collar? I seen some very small trackers. They are run off satellite. Just a thought.
@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors
3 жыл бұрын
This one is listed as a car tracker and a pet tracker. It works very well in cell service but not in satellite range. Which is where I would need it the most.
I guess upside down keeps the locking pin from working off. More importantly how come the sled has to stay outside😀
@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors

I have never had a problem with the pin pooping out.

I lose them particularly in deep snow and when you continously ride over bumps. The pin tends to "ride up" and then in deep snow the snow flap reaches up and pushes the pin clamp out of place
