The Boston Pops Modular Orchestra Part One: Audience Coughing - the beginning of a new exciting journey into incompletion? 35GB of white noise patches curated by Tiesto?

    @@league6 THIS!!!! I bought Abbey Road as an early pre-order in 2020 and have been waiting for Legatos ever since. It's the reason I haven't bought and will not buy any other Spitfire products since then. Orchestra instruments aren't "cheap" for an incomplete product (even with the free add-on of "low strings" that really should have been included in the core product.) Admittedly, you can't knock the quality of the samples, and I appreciate the fact they aren't "just a Kontakt instrument", but fair's fair. 3 years is a long time to wait and watch Spitfire release about a hundred other products that include Legato as a part of the core product... unless the plan is to charge me £400 for the Legatos like they just did for the Low Percussion add on for Abbey Road?

    I think what could really help Spitfire is sending a poll to people who previously bought so.ething from them, asking us what do WE would like to have next. Like, people voting for a new library, or an expansion to an already released ones. Or, to focus on bug fixes / improvements for specific libraries. Let the people vote. You'll only win from that. Cheers!

    I would buy Abbey Road 1 if it included high string legatos, or even if Spitfire would just release a high string expansion to it, that would really motivate me to buy the whole package. Until then, I’m going to be highly skeptical of any incomplete or modular product they release. That said, I absolutely adore the Albion’s , originals and solo string libraries.

    I've always liked Spitfire Chamber Strings sonically but I didn't get it because of the price. Essential with two basic microphones and articulations is a good offer. Sometimes less is more and I tend to the sound of a Chamber string than a big orchestra. Please also release an intermediate version of BBC SO with a close and tree microphone. One mix in BBC SO Core is limiting and Pro is too much.

  • @mdk1983
    @mdk19839 ай бұрын

    The recording quality is amazing as usual, however I notice the same default panning as seen in the BBCSO. I have found it very inconvenient when I need to use only a violin for a track. The recording is left panned, while cello is right panned.. just like an orchestral seating. I wish they all came center focused and allow us to pan if needed. Of course, we can workaround by mono-ing the plugin and placing it anywhere, but then we lose the natural reverb. If anyone reading this thinks am missing something, educate me. I would love to use these plugins for a single instrument purpose as well.

  • @FireAngelOfLondon

    @FireAngelOfLondon

    9 ай бұрын

    I have always thought that ready-panned is not the right way to do it, for exactly the reasons you state. Every modern DAW has decent panning controls and if I can't remember how an orchestra is laid out I can look it up online very easily. When I want a single instrument or a string section along with some synths and maybe an electric guitar for something that isn't a traditional orchestral piece the ready-panned nature of an instrument can be a little annoying. However it is easy to overstate the inconvenience; I don't find it too hard to centre something that is ready panned as long as both channels contain a reasonable amount of information, and Spitfire's libraries usually do. I would prefer not having to do it, but it is a small inconvenience rather than a big one.

  • @batelgroun

    Something that would be really really awesome to see is a sort of similar thing with BBCSO. Something in between Core and Pro that gives just 3-4 mic positions (and maybe some of the extra instruments) so you you can upgrade for a little cheaper and keep a sub 100GB-ish footprint. For many of us, having close, ambient, and tree in addition to the mic adds a lot of value, but so many mic positions just costs way too much hard drive space. I would KILL for this!!!
