What?! We laugh at Seiko because they are such a bad value option now. Buy Japanese, but not Seiko.

Seiko and Tissot are the best at what they do at their price point.

How do you like the PRX I’m debating between that one or a seamaster 80

I love Tissot especially for the price point. I think they have some great options.

The Tissot’s are my favorites. I’ve had a Tissot PRC 200 for about 20 years and I wear that watch the most. I have a steel Sub,A Santos and a Omega but the Tissot is my daily

I love the Alpinist... only issue is that it's a bit chunky but works well on the whole. Good watch for the price.

I’ve got a Hamilton Khaki diver h6451 for under 1k, been loving it! I’d recommend looking into those as well

Just purchased the Tissot PRS 516 with blue dial and it's great, enjoying the fit and the clasp is a great design.

The prx 80 is my next pickup🔥🔥🔥 getting the black one since I already have a lot of other colorful watches I need my best one yet to be neutral so it can be my go to with any outfit

And the Certina DS action automatic!

For less than $1k happen to like vintage Longines, vintage Zodiac and the venerable Vostok Amphibia once I upgrade the bezel to a ceramic insert and change the band.

Any thoughts about Certina? I have one with the same powermatic 80 movement as tissot

Timex and Casio have some decent watches around there; for example the Timex Weekender and Casio Duro can be found for under $50. You could cop one of those and/or save up a bit more ($100-200) for something like an Orient Bambino or a Seiko 5.

I would definitely get a Speedtimer if it was a 42mm case. It's my preference that the watches I wear be absolutely no less than 42. If you saw my wrist, you'd agree 😂

The new automatic from D1 Milano made the Tissot PRX obsolete for me 😅.

The PRX PM 80 movement is impossible to adjust... such a weird setup. Citizen has released similar models for under $500, even with titanium cases and bracelets.

I only got 1 watch. Bought in 1981 it is a $12 Casio. I only change the batteries. Why do I need another watch? I use watch to tell time and nothing else.

Dont get the Tissot PRX powermatic 80. I love the Tissot PRX but the automatic movement has so many plastic components which basically makes servicing it more expensive than just buying an entire new movement. Just buy the Quartz, its cheaper looks better. And if you want an automatic one just spend like 200 more and get a MAEN manhattan 37, or a baltic

Solar powered, so the capacitor lasts months and not years since it's not a battery. But you can give it a nice bath in the sun for a few hours every other month to keep it running. I own the speed timer.

I must be an old dude.. I remember as a kid, that Seiko's were dirt cheap... Just a regular, robust work-a-day brand.. I guess times change & brands try to move up the pecking order.

Are these the only brands you know? Christopher ward, farer, wise, brew have a lot of time pieces that are way in quality than seiko 5s. Should expand your horizon.
