We were talking with Mark just last week. He bought his in 2017 and has over 1000 dives on the unit we reviewed now. He's just had to buy a replacement wing, which means his BCD service and repairs have been less than $100 in 6 years. I don't think you can go wrong there

@@DeeferDivingCarriacou yeah, the only thing i service is the K inflator valve, had to do it once since i bought it, and oh, it was in 2015, not 16 :P, the valve cost me 17 bucks XD

I'm pretty much new in diving activities and I am surprised how much Poland get into sea business. Motor boats, sailing yachts ( Polish firm bought Swedish legend - Maxi boats),diving equipment ( X-deep, Santi, Tecline all Polish). Good quality and fair prices.

My only experience is with XDeep.... but you're right. Good quality and good price too

@@DeeferDivingCarriacou I use Tecline regulator and it's really OK. For Santi dry suit I must wait beacuse it's expensive but really high quality. There's also not so expensive and quite interesting line of Santi dry suits called Avatar.

Thanks for this review. I have the Hydros (for travel) and a new steel backplate wing set-up for my California diving. In hindsight I probably should have done something like the ghost for wetsuit/tropical diving, but I was young and impressionable lad back then. Having said that, the hydros has performed beautifully. BTW, I hope to visit you guys in July next year as I am - COVID permitting - sailing past there then.

Glad it was helpful! The Hydros is also an excellent BCD. I'd like to see how those silicon straps hold up after a few years of use, but I am sure Scubapro have done their homework. The Hydros does feel a lot more thin and a lot less durable than this Xdeep (or the Hydro Lite), and I think it is this quality of materials and finish which impressed me most... I look forward to seeing you down here next July too - We're open and operational.... all we need now is some visitors :) Until then, we'll keep making videos....

I was looking at the xdeep ghost but finally ended up with the zen .. but the ghost dose look awesome. 👍

Zen is also a great BCD and you'll love it. It looks bling too, and has fewer compromises than the ghost as its not trying to be quite as lightweight.... I really hope you enjoy diving with it...

My preferred travel bcd has a 3mm thick stainless steel backplate.

I hear you Rob. I too dive with a 3mm steel plate, but accept its heavier than an ali plate.

Better contestant: Mares XR. All of above without negative x 2 objections, on which I can totally agree.

Tell me more about the Mares XR? You thinking about the version with the pretty blue or red aluminium backplate? How does it dive? I've seen them, but never had the chance to dive them. I didn't include it in my thinking for a review of travel BCD's as its very close (in weight) to a regular aluminium BP/W, whereas the Ghost is very much aimed at the travel market, and has the compromises to go along with that. Personally I dive a Deep6 BP/W which I much prefer to the Ghost, but its not considered a travel BC.... But let me know about the Mares....

I have a Scubabpro Seahawk 2 for travel which I'm very pleased with. But I've been keen to purchase a Ghost Deluxe for a while and your review was very helpful. Off to Maldives in Jan 2021 so I have time to buy a Ghost Deluxe and test it in the pool before I'm off. Any comments on XDeep's EX1 Medium Fins?

Hey Pelle..... We were impressed with the XDeep Ghost. Not because it is any better than a lot of other wing systems but because of its attention to detail. You'll really like it. As for the EX1's - Check out this review, where we compare the EX1 (medium) to the Scubapro Jet Fin and the Deep6 Eddy fin on a blindfolded test - kzread.info/dash/bejne/lKWivKSvlM-anbw.html Now Jon is a massive Scubapro fan.... but check out his thoughts...

@@dontdoitbaby: all I can say is that the Ghost (the Deluxe model) is fantastic! Top quality in every aspect and superb comfort. So well designed and detailed. I went for 2 x 3 kg weight pockets, and 2 x 1,5 kg back trim pockets.

The ghost looks good. Thank you for the review. Would you have any comments for me as I am looking to go for a Zen rather than a ghost just for the potential upgrading capabilities. I would also definitely tune-up mine when ordering.. I wonder why you didn't!

Hi Sahr.... Thanks for the feedback. Th Ghost we had to test was one we 'borrowed' for the test. It is an excellent piece of kit for its intended purpose (robust travel BCD), I too would have changed it slightly to meet my own needs - which don't include travel so much. The Zen is a more completeBP/W setup and does not doff its cap to the travel. The thing I like about all XDeep products is their attention to detail and the quality of their fit and finish. They make good quality premium feel products which you're typically proud to wear. Are they necessarily any better than the BP/W from DiveRite, Mares or Halycon? Is the iPhone that much better than the next smart phone? The truth is, it is if you want it to be.... In conclusion, the Zen with a larger more robust wing would make a great recreational and tech rig which I am 100% sure you would love. It'll look good on the boat and make you proud to own it. So why not, treat yourself. You know you're worth it!

@@SahrLyali i have the zen deluxe with wieght pockets . once you put it on and dive with it you will not regret your choise . i have the stainless plate . the fun part is there is only 2 plates if you are shorter than 1.65 m its the short plate. if taller its the long plate. . and it comes to 8.5 lbs all in so still good for travel .

For me is the best BCD Pro! 😃🤙🏼

It is a good BCD, and the one we have here has had a good years worth of diving on it and still looks good. But bear in mind it is a travel BCD and is missing some features of more fully fledged BP/W setups

Just bought one, can't wait till it arrives! It's the sex 😀

LOL Dave.... I like your enthusiasm... Both Jonny and Mark still love theirs, and it looks like they have managed to convince Emily to buy one in RED too.... Now that looks totally BLING
