Haha is that a thing is it?! Maybe we need to start posting this on forums somewhere 🤣
I'm impressed, I never would have thought of doing this with a small car.

Thank you! It was challenging at times haha but we think we proved that it can be done! 💪✌️
Are you kidding me? Imagine if an when you guys upgrade to a 4x4 when youre storing these many things in a hatch 😲😃the list is never ending. So cool, so damn cool!

Haha we should have upgraded! Maybe we will in the future 😅 Thanks Ventakesh 🙏🏼
You guys are blowing my mind with that tent. so cool!

Haha 😂 it’s pretty nifty!! Just remember that you cannot drive with the tent inflated so it needs to be packed down when you want to go somewhere in your car 😉
This was awesome to watch and can't wait to hopefully embark on an adventure with something similar to this!

Woohoo! Will you be going solo or with a travel buddy?
I would have never thought to do this with my corolla hatchy. SO rad! Love this. Mine isn't hybrid but still gets good enough gas economy I guess haha

Haha make it happen mate! It was quite and effort to make tbh, and if I had the choice, I’m not sure we would do it like this again… 🤔
Looks amazing, just bought same car and definitely will do this set up for next summer.👍

Amazing!! Thank you so much for the support!
Can’t quite tell from the vid, but did you get your springs uprated to take the extra weight? If not, I strongly suggest you do - it’ll be way safer to drive, and will handle better. Trust me, I use to work on car suspension.

Hi Martyn 👋🏼 thanks for your comment. We did not get different springs installed. But tbh our rooftop system was super lightweight - being inflatable, and I’d be surprised if the rest of our build weighed more than that of 2 grown adults in the backseat… we didn’t have any noticeable issues with handling, but then again if we upgraded the springs we might have noticed something!
Dam so your telling me I can do it with my hatchback nice haha

How do you all use the tent effectively given that the max weight capacity of the roof racks is 165 lbs (approx 75 kilos)? Really curious (: thanks guys! Love the info
@cjexplores
Жыл бұрын
Great question, in our research we found that the 75kg rating is for the roof racks as the vehicle is travelling. Anything over this weight will cause the roof racks to become unsafe and they will be outside of their warranty conditions. When the vehicle is stationary however the roof racks can handle much higher weights. Two adults as well as the tent and later on in our trip a gear box as well!
Great content 🔥🔥wat colour is your car?

Hi yall! Looking into getting a rooftop tent for my Corolla Hatchback as well. What is the weight limit for the roof? Does Toyota specify these specs?
@cjexplores
11 ай бұрын
I think Toyota doesn’t actually say. BUT on their OEM roof racks that you can purchase through them they have a weight limit of around 70kg I believe. Now that is more for weight distribution when the vehicle is moving, the roof can carry a lot more than that as we found out (when the vehicle is stationary we had two people and the 25kg rooftop tent up there). Best of luck with your plans!
Great video. Please, where is that great campsite and what's it's name? Thank you.

Yes, it’s an Eco Flow. They have many different shapes and sizes, but this was the Delta. They also have a larger Delta Pro and a Delta Max. And I just received an email saying there is a Delta 2 on the way!

@cjexplores

@@domsalinas05 they worked a treat. The only thing was that they had to be riveted into the roof rails. There are no standard attachment points for them. When removed they have the custom installation points that are now permanent on the roof. They sit at about 5-7mm off the roof and you don’t really notice them at all 😊
Say handy again.
