This was a nice watch, if not to see you having some peace from connecting with a DID character, then at the very least reliving some nostalgia. I LOVE Moon Knight. I read nearly every issue I could find, all the way back from the 70s and 80s to Age of Khonshu, all to get prepared for the show when it came out in 2022. Withholding my disappointment of the show itself, I absolutely loved reading the adventures of Moon Knight and the evolution of his continuity. It's very campy in most parts of the 80s, but writers would be a bit more experimental with it and they'd actually be pretty interesting reads. Marc Spector: Moon Knight was...a bit weird, and took some weird paths, but of course it has some of the most integral moments in his lore, some pretty edgy 90s moments, and a lot more juicy crossovers with other Marvel characters. It also has one of THE best Moon Knight stories, at least my personal favorite: Scarlet Redemption. I was purely hooked on Moon Knight by that point, and reading the 2005 run intertwining with Civil War, The Bottom, MAN that was the DARKEST chapter that has permanently stuck to Moon Knight's lore. But that's what I love about Moon Knight's whole history is that it's all respected, more or less. He's made mistakes, he's had some high ups and low downs, but he keeps trying to do his best after. Characters that hated him still hate him. Characters who remember his reputation have their own opinions about him, and those opinions might be more or less what Marc has about himself. I've thoroughly enjoyed Jed MacKay's run so far. The art is really well done, Moon Knight feels like he's finally struck a balance between merciful and merciless. And there's just something super relatable about him still trying to figure it all out. Jeff Lemire's run was the most touching I had read, and it's no question why it's so popular beyond taking more direct handling of Marc's mental health and DID. And I can't forget about Warren Ellis' run. The art is very minimal, but super effective. It's like a very fun Moon Knight anthology that could handle itself like a televised miniseries. And of course the second appearance of Mr. Knight. First appearance was more of a proto appearance in an Avengers book Ellis wrote (I don't remember which, I think it was Secret Avengers or Avengers Assemble, one of those). After reading all I could get my hands on, no one could persuade me to believe Moon Knight is at all obscure. He's had too much rich history, too much evolution. He's one legacy character that had managed to garner enough passionate writers to keep his building continuously. And just a minor geek note: I can't recall exactly, but it's either somewhere in the later issues of the original vol 1 80s run, or very early on in Marc Spector: Moon Knight. Moon Knight has to try and work with a militia in Bushman's own country, and there's a shaman who talks about having a vision of Moon Knight basically deciding the fate of the world while cloaked in fire. Fast forward a few decades, and we get Age of Khonshu. For all the fan rage that story got from some characters getting power nerfed by the plot (who cares), I don't know if this was intentional or an amazing coincidence, but that story kind of fulfills that prophecy, and when I read that I just thought, "Damn. There really isn't any character quite like Moon Knight." Just amazing. Sorry for being lengthy. Must be a full moon tonight.

This comment is amazing! I really appreciate your insight and knowledge of the character. And that is so cool about the Age of Khonshu! I own that on Kindle but haven't reread it yet since finishing these Omnis. I gotta check that out, and also look for that early Mr Knight appearance. He's Blue's favorite. Thanks for taking the time to check this out. Our next video is a bit like this as well, and we also have a Ghost Rider video along these lines we are editing. Really thankful that you took the time to write what you posted.
