So happy for you guys. Glad things are going forward now. Wish I could have you guys come and finish the remodel that my brother and I started. You guys keep rocking on. I think the Stud pack crew is awesome! That's a great craft to teach and pass on to the kids. I could watch you guys all day long.

It's technically not on their property but instead in the easement for the city. So it's always a good bet to check if you need one based on your type of install. Concrete is usually a good indicator that the city will want to know about it.
I enjoyed seeing how the core drilling was done and what they looked for. Very informative.
We did a deck a few years back. The contractor had a miscommunication between the foreman and the owner, and forgot to file for the permit. We were running a gas line for the grill, and when that inspection was done, the city inspector discovered the miss and issued a stop work. But he also apologized because he could tell we were doing it right, and the fact that we had a plumbing permit for the gas indicated we weren't trying to sneak by him. Point is- if you are willing to throw yourself on your sword and they can see you are doing the work right, a decent inspector will be understanding. In the end the permit was approved and he couldn't stop talking about how much he liked where we were going.

My city would make me pull it out, start over.
Drill dude seems like a good guy... Seems like he knows his shit just has a bit of a hard time expressing it, your upbeat interest seemed to make him get into it... Your interaction also goes to show, a good attitude and general friendliness can go a long way... Really enjoying this series, great stuff guys

great to see him willing to go on camera .. I have to admit I'd be pretty hesitant to have someone filming me while I work -- way too nervous lol
Its genuinely refreshing to see a down to earth family thats this open and transparent in their videos. Absolutely can't wait to see the progress continue now

Wonderful! Someone else said it… no vacations when the ground is open and before you get a roof. I like that one! It’s very true!
EXCELLENT NEWS!
YES!!!!!!!!!! Best news ever!
Great job Jordan and Caesar they came out and took care of business!!! Congratulations Stud Pack! 🎉
How you handled this situation was textbook. You didn't 'Publicly' chastise the inspector or the city, You were respectful and polite and worked with the inspector to resolve a potentially awkward situation, and it saved you 40k. Well done and good luck with the rest of the build. Looking forward to it.
Yea Stud Pack I saw all the negative comments people simply don’t appreciate the amount of work you put in whether it be editing a KZread video, flying across the country for a job, or doing a total remodel which each step along the way, finding solutions to problems and telling us, he audience, to gain knowledge or understand a new niche trick Stud Pack has for us! Literally ignore the comments that are simply meant to be rude and mean to get a reaction, while taking “construct criticism”, because sometimes the line bends between that and simply being a mean person. You guys rock see ya in the next one! Awesome slab by the way! 🤩
Woooo Hooo!!!! Ready to frame! Awesome guys. This is going to be magnificent. God bless you guys!
Hallelujah!! That is fantastic.
HGTV got nothing on y'all! Absolutely fascinating video, guys. I have always wondered about core drilling and this is the most in depth and non technical explanation out there. Again, super fascinating. Looking forward to the next three years! 🎉
Congratulations 🍾🍾🥂🥂 Jordan and Caesar you guys are fantastic! Not to mention, a huge shout-out to the engineering firm for giving the thumbs up!
Well being from Houston myself I hope when you build your new house you build it at a minimum of five feet off the ground. Houston gets heavy rains and has a lot of flooding. My father was a builder there and he always said it will flood and a few years ago it flooded. Look at the sharpstown and Braeburn area, those canals are not enough for drainage. There is too much concrete and clay. Good luck on it.
Glad they got over this hurdle, although I don't really understand how this soil report addresses the issue of the inspector not being able to see the form before the pour. It's not like that process would have involved checking the soil.

Exactly. I can appreciate Studpack being delicate with their choice of words but there is nothing "gracious" about an inspector approving an engineer designed/supervised foundation. Just another example of bureaucracy flexing. Studpack must pay for their insolence.
So educational! The explanation on what he was doing and why was great. Keep it going gentlemen.
Honestly love the full transparency. Glad it's working out for you guys.
Hey guys I was kind of having a crappy day, then I saw your video pop up , and that you passed the inspection🎉🎉🎉🎉. That brought a smile to my face and cheered me right up! Huge high-five and congratulations to you all! Best of luck with the rest of the build, can't wait to see it!❤

Been checking every day waiting for the next chapter ! Stud Pack has sorta introduced me to You Tube DIY by far you guys are the best! The content, the class of the videos , the ups and downs , the family connections.
i'm loving these videos and watching the ups and downs of the whole process. i've never done any DIY, or even built a wooden box, but I SOOOOO want to. Love your content. Thanks. One suggestion: put these dream house videos into a single playlist so it's easier to watch them from start to ƒinish if someone finds the project months or years down the road.
Yeah!! You finally got it! After all the rain and the shoveling and working overnight. Then the hurdles with the city. All of your hard work and dedication paid off. Thank you for showing me what it takes! Congratulations Stud Pack. Prayers to you guys and to your new build.
I swear watching you all is like a TV show!! I’m so excited to see you all start framing!!! It’s always great to see people who take pride in their work like the soil fellas did!! Great job to everyone involved!!

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if one day HGTV or TLC came to them about creating their own show. It already does feel like were watching a network show with the quality of the edits, the work they do and the personality and wholesomeness they bring. If that ever happened I'd have to get a subscription to watch whatever channel they were on. Til then, I'm 1000% okay watching them and supporting them on YT. Love this channel.
I'd like to give a shout out to the San Clemente, CA Building department. We owned a old building in town for 30 years and every now and then we did something that required a permit. I have heard of a lot of building department horror stories, the one that this video was about included, but I have nothing but good feelings about the San Clemente building department. I was an amateur and the helped walk me through the process of getting a permit and made some good suggestions along the way. The inspectors were always polite and they always tried to help if there was a problem. I will say that my feelings about the planning department were not quite as positive, but they were just trying to do what they thought was best for their idea of what the city should look like. I was less enthused about what the city looked like and more enthused about not spending a lot of money.
I really do appreciate the examply you guys have set. Despite all the slings and arrows of life you move on, undaunted, and are are happy or at least positive in spite of your suffering. I know you guys are mostly showing people the story of DIY, but the example you set, by the way you engage with life is priceless. I really hope all the young people out there watch your channel, not only for the DIY information, but as a good example of how to conduct yourself in spite of adversity.
So happy for you guys. Never doubted it, y'all are probably standing on one of the strongest foundations in the Houston area.
Man, so nice to see it worked out. Enjoying this build series, learning a few things for sure!
You deserve some good fortune.
Brings back memories. I used to have the guy in greens job. We ran 6 inch hollow stem augers, so you dont have to pull them. You just sample right through them. We also used split spoons, not pushing shelby tubes. The engineering company i worked for was old school - we put our samples in glass jars, not tin foil. The rigs we contracted were also truck mounted like a well rig, not these smaller crawlers. Still, good memories. Happy to see you guys passed and can move forward.
It's great to see that you're finally moving forward on this project. Can't wait to see you guys start the framing. I can't belive the hoops a person has to jump through to build a house. It's unbelievable!!
Great to see the foundation passed inspection! Must be a huge relief.
hell yeah !! congratulations on finally passing cant wait to start seeing yall frame out the house now !!
Super exciting news! I can't wait to see the house fly up. This is going to be a series I go back to all the time cause it has been so amazing. Thank you all so much for all your work!
So Glad this is moving forward. I know you 3 are too. I also really appreciate how you treat everyone with respect and show genuine interest in their work. It's the right thing to do and you can learn a whole lot about things you don't know anything about.
So happy for you guys. Glad things are going forward now. Wish I could have you guys come and finish the remodel that my brother and I started. You guys keep rocking on. I think the Stud pack crew is awesome! That's a great craft to teach and pass on to the kids. I could watch you guys all day long.
You really deserved some positive vibes and now with the clearance to start the build may you continue with your journey. Congratulations and rock on 🤘
Congrats on the milestone! Glad it all worked out. I've been watching for a while and this project in particular - who knew moving dirt would be so fascinating. Learned a lot. Thanks for sharing all of your work. Keep it going!
Finally! I know you boys are stoked! Cant wait to see the building go up.
Y'all got a smile out of me with this one !! I love the smell of a framed house ... get with it guys!!
So happy to hear about your inspection passing.......said a few prayers for you this past week. Excellent video
Funny that I can be relieved for the passed inspection on y'all's slab. Glad to have seen the particulars on the foundation, but I'm really looking forward to seeing the building go up. May have to reshingle my roof soon, so it's good to have entertaining and informative builds to watch both to get better at it and to de-stress.
I don't understand why the compaction test needed to be done. 1. it wasn't even under the building. 2. if it needed to be done it should be done first before the slab is even set. 3. If you already done a compaction test in the beginning how would this new compaction test over rule the initial one in court?
You guys are good people. Been watching from the start back in the day. Jordan eager to learn and nice as heck, Paul the quintessential dad who knows everything and helps every chance, and now Rad who is all smiles and an amazing friend. Looking forward to the building saga!
Man is great news passing the inspection. The soil testing was really intresting to watch. Onward and upward can hrdly wait for the framing to start. Love your channel.
Right on. I hope we get more videos every week. Looking forward to watching you and your dad build.
Congratulations on forward progress! you learned some stuff and more importantly you built some positive repoir with with people you may have to deal with in the future
Hell yeah! Congrats... so stoked to see the framing go up and watch the progress!
Amazing news guys, congratulations 🎉 Can't wait to see the garage jump up fast now!
Thankfully the wait is over. Happy for you and looking forward to the “Garage” build.
Great job, guys. Keep it up!
Hey guys, don't know if you're still scanning comments for this episode....but if you are, we'd like to wish Mr. Paul a very Happy Father's day
You guys are past the soap opera stage . Wonderful looking forward to watching the build... Best thing on TV
Congratulations on passing the inspection Studpack! Let's get rockin and rolling!
Congratulations on passing the inspection! So happy to see everything turned out alright after last week. Building any structure is a long, tedious process with a ton of paperwork involved. Construction firms have offices full of staff working on that alone. There is a big learning curve, but you handled it very well. Excited to see you finally get to build!
Hey guys, I framed up some walls of impatience using treated lumber for the bottom plate, put the studs of anticipation on 16” centers, sheathed it with 7/16” giddiness, and am ready to stand them up on the like button whenever you guys drop the next vid.

I am waiting also, I figure you are waiting for lumber.
Still the best! Even when you had setbacks you guys still moved forward and gave us the Hawaii bathroom remodel. Class act all the way. Thanks guys. I went back and rewatched some of the early episodes and wow you guys have come a long way. You guys are pros at doing these videos. Keep up the good work. 👍🏼
Awesome job on taking the lead J-Money! Did you ever think that the day you told your dad HE needed a KZread channel to document HIS work that it would turn into this? We are literally witnessing the passing of the proverbial torch. Enjoy it my bro, it goes very quickly.
I’ve been throughly enjoying videos it’s real life stuff.. the dumps and humps … father and son .. backed by the family.. good stuff !
CONGRATULATIONS,what wonderful and welcome news!
I'm having kind of a crappy day, too. And it's great to see you guys. Happy you passed inspection and looking forward to the video on the framing.
Love the intro to this video, and love your sense of humor in the difficult situation.
great intro! man your inspection process is crazy, I thought our red tape was bad! But it is to keep everyone honest and to ensure structural integrity of the property given your environment. Side story, the City of Amsterdam in the Netherlands is built on reclaimed land (shore fill) and their houses are built on piers due to the watertable. And years later are all tipping over like a drunk in a taxi line. Although if you go on a guided tour, they tell you that is by design so the canal boats can get closer to the houses to deliver their cargo via outside rope hoist systems. And if that doesn't sound like Government Tourism Marketing spin, I got many more from other parts of the world.
Awesome! Can't wait to see how the framing process goes and how this home is gonna turn out!
So happy that you guys got the green light. I know the extra stress was frustrating, but looking forward to the steps forward.
I am glad the garage Foundation passed inspection finally! Now you can go to the framing which should go quickly for you. Congratulations!
Congrats, so glad its worked out. Looking forward now to some good ole framing.
congratulations on doing a great job and it passed inspection....look forward to seeing your project move forward!
Just a speedbump. BOOM. Congrats. Rock and roll guys. 🤘
Man that’s awesome, forward progression is the best!
Hell yeah congratulations !!! Let’s get this garage built !!!
Love the videos! Pretty sure I've seen every single one you've published. This house project is awesome and the editing is fantastic and well paced! Keep it up!
Awesome process, so HAPPY for the StudPack, great great news! Time should go quickly now.🎉
Congrats guys! On with the framing!!
CONGRATS STUD PACK! Great job Jordan and Caesar!
Glad yall finally get to frame!!!!
Very interesting to learn the process! And great news on the inspection passing 👍👍
Another example of doing what you have to do in this world. Wonderful work and lots of effort. I can’t wait to see the construction begin on the house. It will be awesome too.
Great job guys. I love seeing your videos.
Congrats! I bet that feels so good! Also those drilling dudes seemed super dope
Congratulations 🥳💥🔥 glad something finally went your way!!! It was nice of Jordan to let you video the process, interesting.
CONGRATS GUYS!!!! Can't wait to see some framing !
Great to see the project moving on!
Great job Jordan and Caesar they came out and took care of business! Also that work bound yall have its amazing.
I was watching another excellent KZread channel when I happened to scroll down and saw your video thumbnail and title and instantly switched to this video. Congrats gentlemen. Looking forward to the rest of this awesome series!
Congrats on getting the go ahead! Must be a huge relief. I was definitely worried when you called 3 other companies who wouldn’t do the analysis. So good to see y’all get a much needed victory. Also seeing your family working through all of this and staying positive is so wholesome and inspiring.
These guys were so professional & very nice. I would totally use them if I needed this highly skilled service. The inspector didn't have to make things this hard.
Awesome news! Can't wait to see the walls go up, then the joists, then the roof!
Yes! Great news!
Yippee, wow, congratulations Stud Pack on the good news from the City 🍾. What a weight off you guys' shoulders 😂. The drilling process was cool and the guys were super awesome. Upward and onward with the build. Take care, and God bless. From South Africa.
Just remember two times you don't go on vacation. #1 is when you have the ground opened up for cement work.#2 is when your building needs a roof.
Congratulations!
Happy for you guys, you can start the build.
Congratulations! I'm so happy for you
Congratulations on getting approval to move forward. Looking forward to seeing what's next in this series.
super happy with the outcome, I was actually thinking about you guys in between videos. Great job with everybody!!
Yeah! Awesome guys! ❤
Awesome guys. As someone whose grown up in NTX and seen multiple foundation issues, and dealt with our city and insurance since 2009, hang in there! Awesome work, keep it up!
Thank goodness. Let's go. Don't forget to holler at the guy from youfloor when its time for floors. Anyway, I'm glad to hear you got passed. I'm super excited to see all that is coming. Especially the framing. Take care and stay safe See ya on the next one
Awesome! Congratulations and blessings. I’m sure if these people knew your guises character dignity, and your worth ethic, it would’ve passed your request for the beginning.
