They will wind up being out of business in a year or two, mark my words. Trash companies like that never last, they scam their way for a few dollars and then wind up going under. Guarantee you this isnt the first case of them doing this. Jordan and paul are really good people, wish they would put them on blast but they wouldn't do that.

Elevation Stone in Dallas Texas is the company that the porcelain tile came from. My understanding is they hired a contractor to do the install. That contractor is who screwed up. I repair machinery. I spent a whole 12 hour day on a machine and can't get it running because the customer didn't tell me it had the problems it had. I'm not exaggerating. I flew to St Louis, drove 3 hours to the ozarks, got a hotel room 30 minutes from the customer, then got there at 7am, and left at 8 pm. My wife had been in the hotel lobby since 3pm waiting for me, picked her up at 8:30pm, and drove to St Louis. Talk about a shit day. I get home the next day and get a text, "whats the next step?" This machine is like 5 generations old tech. It was originally $130k. I have replacement boards. 2 different boards, and two board of the same kind, different generations of that type. I tell them, I'll send them 3 boards which cost $1500 each, and a sensor that cost $300. Told them to try the sensor first. Told them to pay for one of the boards, and that I'd refund if the sensor was the fix. I next day aired the parts. 2 weeks later I get a text that the $300 part fixed it. 2 months later they text me, "Totally forgot about returning the boards, can you confirm your address?" I give them the address. 7 months later I get another text, "OMG, I just found the boards sitting here. I'll send them" 5 days later I get a tracking number and they arrive the next day. The day after they arrive, they ask me when I'm going to refund them. I look at the boards. I took pictures of them and added little dots with a sharpie in a spot only i would know about. They have stickers on them with a serial number, but I wanted to be sure. Sure enough, one of the boards was not mine. On the iphone you can look up pictures based on a location, I look it up and sure enough, the board that was on their machine when I left was the board they sent back. I was soooo pissed. I looked at paypals return policy and it was 180 days. Thats a long time, but we were far past it. I answered them and told them that they had sent me back their board. I provided them with the evidence and they told me they weren't in the office but they would check the next day. I told them that the picture of the board they sent me was geolocated and was on both google photos and iphone cloud. That was 6 months ago, never got a return message..... I didn't ghost them, but I will never go there unless they pay upfront, and never send them parts like that again.

I've seen too many slimy companies like this. If they get paid in full, they walk away and never come back. Always have a clearly worded contract and scope of work in writing. This is a crappy situation, but that's not how it works. Do you ever work for free? I have bills to pay so I can't work for free. There are just as many, if not more, clients that would take advantage of that free labor and stiff the contractor. Once materials are installed, it's the property of the homeowner, regardless of who installed it. This means that a contractor would then need to go through the drawn out process of small claims court just to get potentially a fraction of what they're owed. All the while impacting their livelihood and ability to pay their own bills. My contracts clearly outline the payment schedule so the customer knows exactly what they're getting in labor and materials for each payment. There are also tangible benchmarks during a project that indicate when I need the next payment. All of my payments will include my own labor for the duration of time from one payment to the next. On larger jobs, some of those benchmarks can be months apart. No one is working for free for that long. It's simply a matter of reputation and communication. Don't hire the cheapest bid and read your contracts closely.

As someone who lives in the DFW area, I was really leaning towards using the company from Ft Worth to redo my shower as part of an upcoming bathroom renovation. The fact they ghosted you makes me prefer to go with old fashioned tile rather than with those guys. Really disappointing a company who won’t stand behind their work. I realize they weren’t the installation crew but it was their name all over it. They should have at least tried to make it right or at least return your call.

If I remember correctly, although there were many things wrong with the installation of the shower, I believe the biggest issue were the misfits along the ceiling line. How about a small marble crown molding to match the porcelain tile, or maybe even in a white marble or quartz? Looks classy, and all the gaps go bye-bye. And if the vertical corners are an issue, you could marbleize some quarter-round to match the tile, and then coat it with epoxy. Once again, it's Gaps-Be-Gone.

I figured out how they could fix all the screw ups in that shower and it would look like it was planned that way which is important! Ive been doing tile for over 30 yrs! I can fix anything when it comes to tile no problem what so ever!

Love hou the bathroom is coming together. But I cant help but see that single pointy tile on the left. The whole edge is basically isometric cubes, only that single tile isn't. I would put a single tile 'horizontaly' to finish the 'cube', just for OCD sake 😅. But keep up the good work! I love how you keep the balance between perfectionism and good is good enough.

What a great job on the tile, I look at the pattern and see steps like in the old video game Qbert. Smart decision on the shower walls, get some value out of using the room as it is, if it was the main house then it may be a different outcome. You all are doing a great job on this house!

Good choice on the shower, way to expensive and time-consuming to redo it all, so sad that the company never came back to make it good, guess they'll just take the PR hit. What a shame. That is really such a shame that company ignored you after the tour and everything. You should try to get in touch with the owner. Or tell a news company. If they're going to do that to you knowing their work will be broadcasted in front of hundreds of thousands of people.. Imagine what they do to the average joe. Put that company on blast. So much money involved in this, it's not right. You really need to do it not just because it feels good to out them, but to protect others from falling under similar circumstances as well. What they did is just plain wrong. Period.

Glad you made it through Beryl. It passed through my area on Sunday I think and I was sick so I slept through most of it. I was shocked that our power didn't even go out. Glad to see that Jordan's power stayed on. I'm guessing the company that installed the porcelain walls is not the same company that fabricated the walls? Maybe let the installation company know you intend to file a complaint with the BBB for their shoddy work, unprofessional behavior, and lack of response. That tends to get them to call you back. If you paid for the install maybe you can at least get a partial refund. It sucks when things don't go to plan but sometimes you have to live with it. There were some mistakes on my bathroom reno but I made do with it and am not bothered by the imperfections. Have you considered putting the tile around the perimeter of the mirror or just under the edge but not under the entire mirror? Leaving a little space between the side of the vanity and the wall also gives a little more elbow room when using the lavatory. Ooh, the tile has a sort of 3D cube illusion now that its grouted. That looks neat!
