You guys are the first reactors I've seen that actually caught that Samuel's character didn't want the war to stop, and was more in his element being at war with Kong than actually protecting his men. It seems to fly over a lot of people's heads, why he's so obsessed with killing Kong despite the film showing that he's upset at America losing the Vietnam war

It's something that happen alot for long wars, people have one purpose in life during those time, the normal real life seems boring beside it.

Good reaction! The Monsterverse is a interesting universe because while the humans are there, they are there to drive the plot as the monsters are the real stars and given a lot of personality. Both Godzilla & Kong are not that different from one another. Both are alpha creatures who want to protect their homes. Kong is alone as the last of his kind but is given a duty to protect Skull Island while Godzilla is also the last of his species having the role/weight of the world on his shoulders to protect the planet and keep other monsters in check so they don’t destroy the world.

@@MOONPOPPERS Kong is always good in every version. He always has emotional connections to humans but only attacks unless angered. Godzilla is more complicated in that every version of the character is different. Some versions of him in the Japanese films, he’s a antagonist but other versions of the character, he’s a hero or anti hero. This Godzilla you’ve been watching is more on the hero/anti hero side. I bring it up in case you plan on seeing the Japanese films. Also it would be great if you watch Monarch Legacy of Monsters next as it’s before King of the Monsters & Godzilla vs Kong in the timeline. It expands the universe and adds more lore. :)

King Kong is a little bit older than Godzilla and almost has just as much movies as well as cartoons.... OK maybe not a lot of movies but definitely a lot of cartoons 12:26 fun fact about the spider, the design was actually going to be used in the first original King Kong movie, but was scrapped until this movie was made 29:07 if you've seen the classic movies, then you would know who they are but since this is your first time, seeing them, don't worry, we the audience will let you know: the first one is definitely Godzilla, the second one Rodan, the third Mothra, and of course the fourth one king Ghidorah

There is a animated series that is Cannon to the monster verse about skull Island which take place 20 years after this movie. Also if you wanted to you can watch the apple plus series monarch legacy of monsters before Godzilla king of the monsters if you wanted to for a better understanding of the monster verse.

No, it's 20 years after this movie. Skull Island happens in 1993.

Man, after the Monarch show. Bill Randa is now one of my favorite Monsterverse characters ever. Feels bad man....

You should watch Legacy of monsters as it takes place after Godzilla 2014 and before Godzilla King of the monsters!

Monsterverse movie 2 Kong skull island. Remember stay for the after credit scene that will set up king of the monsters.

Kong is the island protector. All the animals other than those creatures see him as there protector, and he was raised to do just that. He is not alone.

This teenager Kong probably born in the late 19th century that is the reason why he looks pretty closed in the 1940s and 1973 as young age won’t grow too fast. Btw that is also the reason why he looks like he is in his mid-age in the Godzilla vs King as the background is in 2024
