My Mamaw worked at K-mart, so it holds a special spot in my heart. She lived about an hour and a half a way. Always loved going to her K-mart and surprising her that we had made to town see to her and Pappaw. Such precious memories of my life 50 plus years ago.

My favorite Christmas memory is when I was little (I'm 67 now) and we'd always put up the Christmas tree in the middle of December and my sister and I would get up in the middle of the night several times before Christmas and while everyone else was asleep we would turn on the lights on the Christmas tree and my sister and I would sit under the Christmas tree and just revel at the beautiful lights and ornaments for about an hour. It was a magical time. It was full of wonder!

My 4 year old grandson loves making crafts. Every time he comes over he wants to make a craft together. The his year I got a kit of a variety of ornaments made with the crafting foam. It’s been lots of fun. I plan to make that a December tradition. Next year his sister will join us as she will be close to two years old. We also decorate a gingerbread house. His Auntie is his cohort in this project. My children each decorated their own gingerbread house from the time they were about 4 or five. It’s okay to change some traditions for new ones and keep some as is.

You girls are so beautiful! I’m in my sixties now, married 40 years with five grown children and 4 Grandkiddos. GRATEFUL! My favorite Christmas memory was in the house my Dad and Mom built. We lived in it unfinished for a few years as they did all the labor. Our living room was made with an especially high ceiling and sunken floor. A huge wooden beam went from above our picture window, through the fireplace and dining room, and out the other side of the house. We lived on a farm so would get own own tree from the woods. It had to be over 10 foot high and my Dad would hang it with wire from that beam. It would slowly turn so we could decorate all sides. I’ll never forget how magical it felt!

Oh my Katie, Honey, the memories that you cherish NOW don't fade, we don't trade one set for another, but, we add a whole new "drawer" in the file cabinet of our hearts, they actually become even more precious. You will find yourself walking down memory lane again and again and things that didn't seem to be that big of a thing, will suddenly bloom into a precious moment and THAT is where you will draw your inspiration to create those heart memories with your precious baby boy. One day you will look in the mirror and the reflection will give a glimpse of your Mom looking back, how she looked this Christmas or that Christmas and it will birth a special thing you will want to make YOUR tradition with your Son. Stepping from the Child to the Mom is one of the most magical things you will ever experience, including at Christmas . As my kiddos grow, the memories seem to come to life in such a different way and each year it's amazing. I was thinking the other day about drawing pictures for my Parents when I was little after my 5 and 3 year old brought me pics they drew for me. I don't have a Mom and Dad anymore, but that memory gave me the idea of getting plain brown paper, I drew a bunch of things, trees, stockings, deer faces with my kiddos and let them color them and that is the wrapping paper I used for my adult family's gifts. Something new for them, all from the long gone special memory of me drawing for my parents when I was little. So those memories don't fade, they do move into a new place in your heart to make room to ADD your Mommy Memories. Somehow, Christmas becomes a whole new magic, more nostalgic, and even more beautiful. Im excited for you and Corie to open this door and find a whole new file cabinet that's been waiting for you gals. Love and prayers Merry Christmas guys.

My Mamaw lived 3 hours away. We would go to her house almost every Christmas. She always made Daddy's favorite food, She'd harvest a chicken and make chicken and dumplings. She also made old fashioned fruit cake and got us a tin of hard candies and sewed or crocheted clothes and blankets for pur dolls. She didn't have much in the way of money, but she left me with rich rich memories.

I have, from the time I was knee high to a grasshopper, been completely heartfilled with love for the canine species. Yes, dogs, and with all that entails. It was Christmas night in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. I was about 7 years old. Once I saw that Santa had not brought me a horse for Christmas, which i had so hoped for, after supper, I made my usual rounds to the left behind dog houses in the yards at the vacant houses in the area to see if any stray dogs and/or their puppys were to be found so i could feed them my snuck in my jeans pockets supper scraps. I didnt find any little furry angels that Christmas night, but I did find a very tiny little dark gray critter/baby in a little pile of hay in a corner of one of the doghouses. The eyes were still closed. It was moving a wee bit but it was cold. I knew it needed a blanket so I picked it up and held it close to my chest and went running home. My Daddy was watching the news in his recliner and I went to him and showed him what I had cupped in my hands and that I needed something warm to wrap it in. I said, Daddy, it was lying in a bit of straw, just like Baby Jesus was, and it needs to be wrapped in something warm like Baby Jesus needed." He said, "Honey, here. Let me hold it. Have you finished reading your dog book, 'Call of the Wild' yet?" I said, No sir." He said, "Well you go get some hot chocolate your Moma has on the stove so you can get warm. Then, snuggle up and continue reading your dog book, and I will go out and try to find the Moma of this little baby." Me, "Ok, Daddy. I will. But please find its Moma." "I will sweetheart." When my Dad returned, a short time later, he told me everything was going to be just fine. That I was not to worry. Then he sat down with his arm around me, and a cup of hot chocolate, and had me continue reading out loud to him the beautiful writings of Jack London's, 'The Call of the Wild'. It was a few years before I would find out what my Daddy instantly knew that night: that my Christmas find in the straw in that doghouse that night was a baby mouse. And I never asked him what he did with it. And he never spoke of it again. We had both done our best that Christmas night to remember that Jesus Christ, starting as a baby in a manger, came to teach us the true meaning of LOVE.

Growing up my Dad would pass out a gift to someone, we all watched as the person opened it, oohed & awed over it, then the next gift was passed out & so on. I loved that tradition & carried it with me to my own home. Most of the excitement came from watching the gift opening. Best memories!❤

Those are some sweet memories. My favorite Christmas was when Mom and Daddy moved us back to Oklahoma from California where we had lived for 8 years. Both sides of our family lived in Oklahoma and we arrived about a week before Christmas. It was a lot different from the Christmas's we had in California because relatives were just thick but so was the love. It wrapped around us like a warm blanket. It was also the first time my brother, sister, and I ever saw snow. Dad stopped the car when we first saw the snow on the ground and had us get out so we could touch it. I was 9 at the time and I swear I thought it would taste sweet. 😆 We were also surprised at how cold it was. That was in 1969 and is still my favorite Christmas memory. We had a Ben Franklin in town, which was a store that sold things like sewing notions, a few toys, comic books, and some candy. Probably toiletries, hankies, and other needful things. I was only interested in the candy and toys. We also had a Rexall drug store that had a lunch counter in the back. You could buy a banana split or an egg salad sandwich and much more. Those were good old days for sure. Thanks for the stroll down memory lane. Merry Christmas and God bless you all.

Thank you girls for sharing some of your favorite Christmas memories. The Lord has blessed me with 73 Christmases but having been blessed with four children, my favorite memories are those with all of them, the wrapping their toys, helping with their school Christmas plays, baking cookies with my Mother who is now in heaven with Jesus, filling stockings, just everything. I have truly been so blessed even though we didn’t have a lot of money. All our grown kiddos, 8 grandchildren, and one great grandson celebrated our family Christmas yesterday. We ate until we were about sick, gathered and each shared things we all were so thankful for this last year. Then we played a Christmas Bible jeopardy game one of my daughters found on the internet, then my husband, Paw Paw, read the Christmas Story. He can never read it without shedding some tears. I pray that our grandchildren and great grandchildren, will come to love Jesus, like their Paw Paw does. This morning the rest of the grandchildren went home to have make their own Christmas Eve and Christmas morning experiences. Though the house is so quiet and I have shed a few tears, my heart is full of all the sweet memories. I have been thanking the Lord for them and for blessing me so. May the Lord richly bless you both and all your families. Merry Christmas to you all!❤️✝️🙏🎄

The 1980's and 1990's seem not that far away for me. I am on up in years -- not THAT old, but not that young either. LOL My most memorable Christmas was the year I got my first whole Bible -- Old and New Testaments. I ran to the tree, and got it and ran back to bed, and I remember how I hugged that Bible, and asked God to help me to read it and learn from it and to live for Him. I meant every word. He has helped me. I know that may not seem so special to some, but to some they will get it. :) Merry Christmas to all of you and to all on this channel!

You girls are so sweet! Love all of your Christmas memories! I have many Christmas memories but one year in particular, my sweet Dad was working in Idaho. We lived in Ohio. I remember talking to him on the phone and he said he wasn’t going to be able to make it home for Christmas and it just devastated me 🥺 We had always spent Christmas together as a family and this would have been the first time without him. On Christmas morning, my Mom woke my sister and I up. Not long after I came downstairs, someone was knocking on the door. My Mom asked me to answer it and……there stood my Dad!!! 😊🎄😊 You talk about a Christmas surprise! It was so wonderful to see him! He had driven about 2,000 miles through mountains and snow and ice, but he made it home for Christmas! Then we had breakfast, opened our gifts and headed to Cincinnati, Ohio to spend Christmas with both sides of my parents family🥰 Best Christmas EVER!!!

She said but that is a cartoon. I said but the story is very cool. When it got to the part where his heart grew i peeked over and her eyes were shiny. Alot of my childhood memories involve late night trips to Virginia to spend a few days with my mom's family. Late night snacks and movies with my cousins and acting silly. Christmas with Dad's family always involved family reunions, and listening to my great grandmother sing "Jolly Old Saint Nicholas", and her stories...so priceless. I remember K Mart! We no longer have one. My favorite memory is going to my grandparents house. We got to see my favorite aunt and my mom's folks. Then we would go to my Uncle's house who was a bachelor and he was so special. He eventually married and we no longer went there afterwards. But at my grandmother's house we got presents. We didn't at home and my father made more money than anyone but his kids presents wasn't important. I remember mawmaw s Mac n cheese and slaw. I don't like Polar Express. My son told me years later he didn't like it because at school they watched it and drank cocoa but he accidentally spilled his and got a paddling and was not allowed to watch the movie. It breaks my heart because he was only 4.

The last Christmas before becoming mommies. My favorite Christmas memories were all about going to my grandparents' house. My grandmother didn't do a lot of decorating, but it was always beautiful. And the food was something to see and even better to eat. My grandmother cooked/baked for weeks. And on top of all that, she usually made/sewed each grandchild something to wear (gowns, robes, pajamas, dresses etc.) We would usually gather around the piano while granny played, and we would sing Christmas songs. Great memories!

I bought my cookies for Santa plate and cup at Kmart after Christmas on clearance for .50, my youngest son is 18 and my oldest is 33. (There are 2 more in between) they left that plate and cup for Santa every Christmas for almost all their lives. My mom and I use to shop there every Christmas for family gifts. She is 94 and in an assisted living facility with dementia. I miss those trips to Kmart. I miss shopping with my mom. Cherish all those family memories and enjoy making all the new ones. Don’t pressure yourself and your new families to do things to MAKE MEMORIES, memories are made when you are just enjoying each other and living life. I spent years trying to make MEMORY MAKING MOMENTS, and when those didn’t turn out exactly like I’d planned I felt let down, like I had failed…. (Seeing everything on social media makes that tough, we all feel like we need to do more) Don’t do that to yourself, just live, the moments will happen. Merry Christmas and God bless you all!!!! Happy Birthday Jesus

Love listening in on your shared memories. Lovely. That ‘sisters’ number from white Christmas makes me think of you two- “caring, sharing…” I am the middle of sisters and brothers. My mother always took my sisters and I out to pick ‘Christmas dress material’ when the Christmas season was approaching. We would select one roll after narrowing down the options we liked and could afford. My mother would then sew matching dresses for us to wear in our school Christmas concerts, & to dinner parties, & to any family or church events along the way. We loved our Christmas dresses. As we grew, my mother would let us choose our own unique patterns for our dress to be of the same material, but also reflect our different preferences and personalities. Eventually, we even picked different material from one another. We loved and admired our mother’s skill with her sewing machine. She could make our wishes come true. I still have the urge to look at dress material at Christmas time. I miss falling asleep to the sound of her sewing machine whirling away into the late hours -while she toiled away. I remember keenly the anticipation when my mother invited us into her room to try on an unfinished bodice, sleeve, or skirt - as she pinned and folded and cinched up the dress pieces to fit just perfectly. Just catching a glimpse of the finished product was as exciting as the gifts wrapped up and opened on Christmas morning . I am not blessed with my mother’s sewing skills; however, she taught us so much in the crafting of those special dresses, beyond the dresses themselves and into the labor of love that was behind it all. It connects us still. ❤ Here’s to memories! Merry Christmas from Idaho.

Polar Express was in 2003! I know this because my mom was still in ICU at Christmas 2004. In 2003 the week before Christmas I had to take my oldest son to the Children's Hospital in Houston Texas and my aunt let us stay with her. She took us to go see Polar Express and then to Gatti Town Pizza after. We had so much fun! Now I have moved from South Texas up here to Virginia and live with her so she can stay in her home instead of being put in a nursing home. On K-Mart, did y'all's store smell like popcorn when you walked in the door? Sweet memories.

There were years in my 20s and early 30s when I supported my disabled mama on a very limited income. Loving Christmas preparations so much, Mama would sew things for me to sell to my coworkers to help raise gift money. One year it was furry stuffed animals. She even made beavers with realistic tails. One year she made raggedy Ann and Andy dolls that were a great hit. Great fun!! 🎄🎄🎄

My favorite memories are when I tried so hard to stay awake for Santa, lol. Later, when grown, our whole family sang Christmas songs, played piano, guitars and mandolin. Miss those times. Mom and Dad are in heaven now and me and my siblings live so far apart, from California, Nevada, oregano, Arkansas, and Florida.

CHRISTMAS MEMORIES... Going back to four years old. My dad died when I was four years old back in November 1957. He had bought my sister and I a little table and chairs plus a tea set of milk glass. I still have my chair, the table and tea cup. He (dad) had a bike on lay-a-way and after dad's death our family doctor, Dr. Michael McCall went and paid the balance on the bike for my brother. He also gave my brother a baseball mitt was his that we had forever. That Christmas our relatives really made it so memorable for us. We had so many gifts. My sister and I were standing on the sofa and I saw everyone but my uncle. Then all of a sudden dang Santa Clause came into the room. Now this may explain the rebel in me. I said that is not Santa that is my uncle as I pulled his beard down. May God bless each and every one of my friends and loved ones this Christmas.

I have so many sweet memories as a child with all my cousins, playing in the barn, corn cob fights, horse rides, sparklers & firecrackers at Christmas. My granny, mom, and aunts were such wonderful cooks, I now carry on the tradition of cooking goodies with my mom’s recipes 😊

"The Polar Express" was released in 2004. One Christmas tradition when I was a kid in the 1960's was that Aunt Karen (my dad's sister) would take my siblings and me shopping in downtown Cleveland. We always stopped at the Sterling-Lindner department store to see "America's tallest indoor tree" and ate lunch at Higbee's Silver Grille, where the special meal for children was creamed chicken, mashed potatoes, and peas and carrots -- all served in a toy cardboard stove.

My goodness, you had me teary eyed too! I have great memories of my childhood Christmases because we always had fun with both sets of grandparents coming to our house to open gifts. My favorite Christmas has to be when my sweet husband got down on one knee and presented me with a beautiful ring and asked me to marry him. This will be my third Christmas without him and though it's tough, I know I'll see him again because of Jesus, who came to us as a little baby and gave us redemption and salvation! I also loved Christmas with my son when he was little. Just you wait, your favorite memories will become the ones when you do everything to make sure your boys have wonderful Christmas memories! Merry Christmas!

Girls, you made me tear up at the end. I am now an old lady (64) and my own twin daughters are grown (38). Neither of them have, or want children and it is sad in a way because to me, Christmas was SO much more fun with little ones around. Just watching them learn the meaning of Christmas, giving, and the reason we celebrate is the fun part. You both will have many, many wonderful memories to make with your little ones. Merry Christmas to the Pressley family and to all in the comment section. Take care all!

My favorite store at Christmas was the Sears in downtown Winston Salem. You parked on top of the building and went down stairs to the store. As a kid I thought that was cool. Favorite Christmas memories are times with family too numerous to count. But, top of the list would have to be our first Christmas with our daughter. We spent it with my wife's parents in Holden Beach. There was 18 inches of snow in their yard on Christmas morning. First time it had snowed there in over 100 years. Now our daughter is 34 and cooks Christmas dinner for us.i have been truly blessed. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

My grandmother has always had a big Christmas Eve family get together, with her on hospice this will be the first year we are not having it. With Colton on standby to deploy, the army wouldn’t let him come home so we decided to head his way and be with him for Christmas. This is the first time we are not at home on Christmas but I’m with my wife and kids so that’s what matters to me. For y’all ladies, Christmas is fixing to be the best it’s ever been, when those babies get old enough to realize what Christmas is. My Christmas memories with my kids are far greater than mine growing up. God bless you.

One of my favorite Christmas memories was shopping at a Woolworth's for my family as a young girl. I had a $5 bill and believe me when I tell you I stretched that $5 so far I was able to buy everybody gifts. It was a time, I remember it snowing and walking downtown with my friend and having hot chocolate at the soda fountain too. BTW girls there is a Barbara Streisand song called "The Best Gift". I recommend you listen to the lyrics and have a good ball for yourself! Love to all!
