The nursery is so lovely and the bird theme is peaceful! I am so happy for you! As a great Gram who has helped with the littles on my family, please consider a diaper changing area that would include space for diapers, wipes,& ointment. It would be a great convenience if there were also receptacles for used diapers and for dirty/ used clothing…newborns require frequent clothing and bedding changes. Your upholstered rocker looks so inviting, but on those long nights when baby needs much holding & rocking, a chair with a tall back provides a place for the caregiver to rest their head & snooze a bit. Babies spit up a lot in the beginning and a washable slipcover will help keep the upholstery looking good. Enjoy these next few month and years…they fly by swiftly!😘

A changing station would be a pretty smart thing to have. Truth be told I have 5 children and never used a changing station even once. I was a nanny prior to having children of my own and I changed the children on the couch, the floor, the seat of the car or wherever! But others swear by theirs! The acorn growing is such a special thing! We have done that with each of our children as well so it really had us tearing up just seeing it. We have a plaque on our mantle that says “Mightly oaks from little acorns grow.” We look forward to watching you lovely family grow! My husband and I have been watching your amazing sympathetic remodeling and just love the videos! If you ever need help that’s what he does for a living.

Sleep baby on its side and alternate sides after each feed, this helps shape their head beautifully. I use to use rolled towels either side to keep them prop up. Alot of people sleep baby on their back and they end up with a flat head at the back. Another thing too, when baby gets constipated, give him a lil bit of warm water with a small bit of brown sugar in it, this helps loosen things up ❤

What a beautiful nursery for your baby ❤. I agree with others that you need a changing table ( with drawers and a shelf underneath) . It makes changing diapers and having wipes at hand much easier !! They even have a unit that warms the wipes !! Who wants a cold cloth on their bum ?😩 I also think a nice rug on the floor for tummy time as he gets a bit older . As the baby grows and goes from one stage of development to the next , you will figure out what you need next . You are bringing home an infant - not a teenager 🤣. You will grow as parents as your child grows ! And best of all - you have mothers to guide you through this wonderful journey called PARENTING ❤❤. CONGRATULATIONS 🎉. and I can’t wait to meet your new little angel !! Oh - the handmade bed with the religious symbol embedded into it is absolutely stunning! An heirloom for sure ❤❤

I never got toys for my grandchildren. They had top menu. I opted on opening a saving account for each of them and placerd an amount each month, on their birthdays christmas and for achievments. The accounts were blocked till they were 18. They still use it as savings account and have another one for living. You could ask family and frends to contribute to the saving account. Believe me your child will be thankful. My grand children are.😅 I adore the nursery.

Very sweet nursery! Changing diapers on the trunk will soon kill your backs. Newborns have 6-7 diapers each day. Look for a nice dresser on which you can place a thick pad (pad and fitted, washable covers are on Amazon) that is shaped to hold a baby (so that when they can turn over, they’re less likely to roll off). The top dresser drawers (fitted with drawer dividers) will be handy for diaper cream, cornstarch baby powder, socks, brush/comb, bibs, pacifiers, nail clippers, etc., The middle drawers are perfect for knitwear, burp cloths, etc., and the bottom drawers can hold diapers/wipes. Of course you have to be with the baby every second, so the ideal spot for the changing table is under the peg bar, so you can preselect clothes and hang them there before dressing him. You will probably want a basket with duplicate diaper-changing supplies downstairs but you definitely need a changing center in the nursery, with a basket next to it for laundry. Be sure to stock a supply of pre-mixed formula along with bottles and sterilizing equipment. I’ve heard it said that an elaborate first birthday party is not for the child, but the parents, to celebrate surviving the first year! 😂 Best of luck to you.

I don't need to tell you this, but that nursery is divine, and the cot is exquisite! Well done both of you! I don't think you are missing anything. I disagree with that you 'need' a changing table - it's not as necessary as everyone makes out. Just keep a changing mat in the wardrobe, pop it on the floor when you need it and get down at baby level and have some fun. (Obviously not in the middle of the night. Keep the fun for other times of day. lol) I loved changing my babies on the floor - and while you're down there, give thanks there that you didn't have to be in labour and have stitches (or whatever). 😆😉 I look forward to seeing every video that you put out. I your joy and love radiating, and that does my soul good also. Thank you both. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🤎

i agree with all the comments re the changing table and baskets for diapers and dirty clothes etc. You will use many diapers and many changes of clothes in a day. Just a thought, could a sink be installed in the adjoining bathroom as well a changing station with space for dirty diapers and clothes. (I know you will not want to deal with the lack of esthetics of plastic containers of wipes and plastic bags of diapers but they need to be easily accessible. Could be out of sight in the unfinished bathroom. )🙂
