***** About Living Traditions Homestead *****
Living Traditions Homestead is all about living a simple and sustainable way of life. We believe the world has gotten too “busy” and that people are missing out on many of the true blessings this world has to offer. We started as a small urban homestead in Gilbert, AZ and after the city grew up around us, decided it was time leave corporate America and take a big leap of faith by moving our family to the Missouri Ozarks.
We put out 5 new videos every week! Tuesday through Saturday. We hope you will become part of our homestead family by subscribing to our channel and watching as we transition from city dwellers to full time homesteaders!
We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites.

First, while watching my son called. He cut his arm. His wife is taking him to urgent care or ER. PLEASE PRAY FOR HIM. I’m a wreck worrying about him. 🥺😭. I absolutely love your channel! Your children are wonderful and I thank God for kids like yours! They are the future! 🙏❤️🙏. My 2 sons are wonderful men. I’m so proud of them! The one that got cut is 46, the other is 50. Thank you all for praying!🙏❤️🙏

And of course KZread targets homesteaders and not the actual pedophiles. Google is part of the problem. It will all come out. They will be punished. Follow the Epstein trial. Read up on the NXIVM and R Kelley trials. The evil will be purged. In the mean time, stay safe. God bless.

I would be so embarrassed if a family member saw that I had written something inappropriate on KZread. It seams that many people are not embarrassed. Kids cuss in front of their parents. Men beat on women on camera. And now, we hear that people (presumably men) make nasty public comments about kids. Does nobody bring it up at their family reunion?

It really is a sad world. I just cannot imagine what they hope to achieve by forbidding your children from appearing in the videos or threatening you with disabling your comments. It is the most natural thing and really delightful and a good lesson for other families to see your children helping you in the garden and kitchen. Is society so derranged that an image of a child has become a trigger for the ugliness in it? If so, the ugliness in the world is winning.

I found when the sunflowers self seed they grow taller...you are lucky the deer came and harvested ours and what they didn’t the squirrels pulled the rest...... I make a Mexican eggplant. I precook them till soft then take the inside and mix black beans, salsa, rice, onions, chorizo and Mexican seasonings into it. Then fill each half.....Then grill them on the grill till slightly charred .....adding your favorite cheese on top in the last few minutes till melted...........my son in law went crazy over this recipe and he doesn’t like eggplant.

It's a shame that the most decent and interactive things can not be shared. Not only with your girls but with other homestead families that we have come to love and see them grow into responsible young adults. I do hope KZread gets it figured out for everyone!

That's exactly why I want to get to the point where my family and I can homestead!💜 Closer together as a family, doing good quality productive work, that feeds us all,and teaches them skills they can live by. It's also an awesome way to homeschool. Math, cooking. Science, the balance between plants/the weather/water/ground quality, etc. Learning plant biology. Animal biology. Language arts when learning how to spell the names and using the words for things correctly. Grammar. Etc. Etc. My kids and my hubbs and I just discussed it today, and we are ALL excited to step our foot into the world. I told the kids to be patient tho. It'll take us 5 yrs or so to get there while my hubby and I do our learning to know what we need to know before diving into it all.💜 SO EXCITED! These wonderful folks help both my husband and myself figure out what we really would like to do with ourselves. SO glad this channel and this wonderful family exist!!💜💜

Fried eggplant is the bomb-diggity. Slice them in @ 1/2 inch thick discs, salt and let sit for a few minutes. Pat dry, dip in beaten egg and then in seasoned cornmeal and pan fry until cornmeal is golden browned and the exterior is crisp. When done right, the exterior is crisp and the interior is creamy... super yummy!

When my Daddy had his Aviary, he used to grow Sunflowers to save the seeds for some of the birds. It started when we 'babysat' a Mynah bird for an old man that used to be a neighbour. It was so funny, the gentleman had been a Coal Miner and the bird could cough like a 40 year smoker, it could swear like a Sailor too, my Mum used to die of embarrassment 'cos he'd start up the minute we had visitors. The Sunflowers he grew were easily 5 feet plus tall and some of them grew to 10-12 inches across. They were a darker yellow than yours too I used to help him collect the seeds from them for his birds. The Mynah would ask for them, it was about the only time he was actually polite. "Where's my seeds, Please. Pretty please" but he'd say it continuously until he got them lol. I don't like Aubergine either, but if you chop it up and roast it you can mix it into a Ratatouille, a roasted Vegetable Lasagne or if you cut them even smaller you could maybe not notice them so much in a roasted Veggie medley? It makes my blood boil about the girls. Yes there are channels with very small children that need pulling up over their videos, They should already be aware of scumbags & weirdos when they film them, I just hate that it's necessary. Your girls are older though and you NEVER show them indiscriminately or in a way that could be construed as immodest. This just makes me angry on your behalf, I bet Dutch got the same warning & Daniel Arms, there'll be a riot if his followers don't get their Houston fix.

Sometimes people are envious when they see things, but not industrious enough to do the work that you have in order to have what you do.. Don't let it depress you, the information you provide is very useful, thank you.

Such a shame that the girls can’t be in the videos for now. This happened to Justin Rhodes for a couple of weeks and his comments did get disabled but for some reason it didn’t last long and it’s ok. Thanks for the video guys!! I too planted the black oil sunflowers just bought a big bag of “bird seed” and I have some that are 5 foot tall and some around 3’ tall. Going to do a ton more next year now that I know they work and they are gorgeous!!!

The girls are missed, but thank goodness that they want be in certain thought paths! Sad but true the facts of this old world. We just need to continue to be diligent with our prayers. I love Turkey sounds too. Their some cool birds. Eggplants and tomatoes are looking great, should turn out to be a success! Tyfs and God bless.

Hi Kevin and family from North of you in Missouri! My recipe for baked beans similar to yours, but I use sorghum as the sweetener, onions and garlic, and don't forget the bacon! Stay cool and don't let the cicada songs keep up at night.

Thank you for explaining about the comments and family images on youtube. Good for you for keeping your viewers up to date with how your family is faring, the table setting lets us know that your family is about to share a meal, and knowing how everyone is doing is wonderful for those of us who follow because we appreciate your family orientation. I've seen how many families are handling this issue, and I like how you have chosen to go forward with respect for your viewers.

Kevin has really got to start retailing the T-shirts he wears! The sunflowers are really beautiful, if not completely successful, yet, they are worth it for their beauty, and will give you a few seeds to experiment with this year. I've always wanted to grow oilseed sunflowers, if I have the opportunity.

You had me at grilled quail! I serve mine with a lemon, butter and herb sauce. I don't have a farm myself - but that is who I support with my dollars. I got a great hall today of new potatoes and assorted vegetables and this weekend you have inspired me to get my hands on some quail. Personally not a fan of beans but going to make your recipe for my husband he will love them. All the best to your family.
