Otter Creek Labs makes very effective, very affordable suppressors and the Polonium K is their dedicated 5.56 compact can. I've been wanting this suppressor for a long time and I was finally able to take it out and put the first rounds through it. Did it live up to my admittedly high expectations? It is very gassy, but it's also VERY effective, especially for its size and price! Let me know what your favorite 5.56 suppressor is in the Comments and don't forget to Subscribe!

Just got approved and picked up my first suppressor about a week ago. Went with the full size polonium in fde! Only shot it once for about a mag and a half but I’m very impressed with just after that one session! Especially since it was indoors. Have it on my 11.5 and just finished a 16” build that I’m excited to see how it does on that too!

Nice! I was looking into that one before I finally decided on the Polonium K.
I had to put an adjustable gas block and a vented forward assist on mine because the Polonium makes so much gas… but I do like the can.

A vented FA?? The goal is to keep gas OUT of your face.. The Superlative Arms AGB has a bleed off feature that vents at the gas block and directs gas away from your face. Try that..
I’ve gotta Saker 556 that I use on my 10.3” super duty and love it. I’m doing a 14.5” build currently and was thinking of getting a shorter can for it. The Polonium K seems like a great option. I got the same exact handguard for my current build except in black. I plan on painting the whole thing when done.

Might not believe it but my ab warthog 556 is quieter than the polo k and just as quiet as the full size. Was shocked how well my ab warthog 556 and 762 sounds. Just got the b&t srbs 762 so we will see the back pressure cans ability! Good vid
Nice! Glad to see you have your build fully completed after getting your tax stamp. I’m waiting on their OCM5 that certified back in April. It will be going on a Gordon clone I built earlier this year as well as a PSA rifle that I repurposed into a MK12 Mod H in the middle of last month. Both rifles feature the OCL OTB Flash Hider.

I’m curious about those otb suppressors, does the part that slips over actually serve any purpose? Like is the gas directed rearward into that part? Or is it just for weight balancing purposes?
@drewalexandervideography
Ай бұрын
@@msquared9605 The style of suppressor is known as a reflex suppressor and that they do offer really good noise reduction and flash suppression. I believe the purpose of the first few inches of the can before the baffle stack is to simply harness the flash, throw the gasses forward coming out of the gun as the bullet travels through it, and greatly reduce the sound signature of the rifle. To my knowledge, these types of suppressors have little to no impact shift of the rifle’s zero whether the suppressor is attached or removed. I know the Knights Armament M110 employs a similar style reflex suppressor but it locks up at the gas block. I have heard that these types of suppressors tend to be both gassy and create a good amount of back pressure just with the nature of their design. The gas has to go somewhere. I haven’t had a chance to shoot with it yet however and look forward to seeing how both rifles will perform once I get my approval.
I have a polo K on its way. Can’t wait to get out and try it on my mk18 build.

@sawtoothtactical404

I'm really happy with the Polonium K, but I like to keep things short, if I can. I'm sure the full-size will be a little more effective, though, and you can definitely get away with the extra length on an 11.5". I use mine on everything from a 10.3", 11.5", 14.5" up to a 16", so I didn't want it to be super long on the two longer guns.

@@sawtoothtactical404 I Forgot to mention that increasing buffer weight and spring power can make the rifle more jumpy(or shaky). This is true of both the kick on the way back and the muzzle dip as it goes into the battery. I usually try to keep longer barrels on C to H1 and SBR under H3. And try not to go above +15% for spring. It is better to solve it at/near the source than do downstream bandaid fixes. Just my 2cents.

@EricKelly-zw9tw so I've got 2 fullsize poloniums and I put one on it to try out I like it. But if I'm being honest the sounds nicer to the ear. But I think that's because it's got less back pressure so less port pop. I did end up checking pew science and on short barrels the k is rated better at the ear. But I will say this as well... on longer barrels the full size sounds absolutely amazing. And on my long stroke piston pws adjusted correctly it feels like the best setup.
