HUXWRX Flow 556K

Ғылым және технология

In this video we take a quick look at the new Flow 556K from HUXWRX‪@HUXWRX‬ The Flow 556K is produced using DMLS (Metal 3D Printing) technology to improve upon HUXWRX's commitment to minimal to no-backpressure suppressors that so not affect firearm function and improve the user experience.

    I always liked OSS cans from the first time I saw them at shot show when they were brand new. I knew the design would ultimately require 3-D printing to be reliable, and when I saw the machined & assembled cans coming apart in the field sadly I was correct, but now that it seems they have perfected the 3-D printing and change their name to I assume distance themselves from the problems they had in the beginning I have a feeling they will be very successful. I know soon as I get out of California and get my FFL again I will be selling these cans as well as using them myself.

    I already put in my paperwork 2 months ago, didn't know it had a 10,000 round limit, but hopefully cleaning it as the manual states (submerging it in solvent for 24hrs) after every range would bump up the round count. HUXWRX is a little unsure about their warranty with this suppressor and said it'll be a case by case for repairs.

    These are cool, but a real argument (again) for repealing the NFA (or at the very least taking suppressors off the NFA) because 10K rounds isn't great for something you cannot recore and basically own for life. Or, if you have a strike of some kind you're out a can due to the way it was made. For gov work, none of those things matter. For your average person, it is a bit of a letdown over the long run.

  • @ZboeC5

    @ZboeC5

    The entire point of the NFA is to make ownership of things like silencers and SBRs onerous and "not worth it" for the average person because they don't actually want you to have these at all. The only reason people do it now is because they forgot to account for inflation when they made the stamp cost $200 in 1934. If a tax stamp still cost the equivalent of a new car today most of us wouldn't even think of owning these as they would be completely unobtainable for the average person.

    @@ZboeC5 Because, firstly, small things tend to be lighter. .30 cal tends to be bigger and heavier. You might even try to extrapolate that thought out to "longer" also. Now imagine a 6" .30 cal over-barrel suppressor only adding 3 inches to your build? Maybe you don't fully understand any of this, considering your response to my comment. It also would provide nice aesthetics onto AR platforms hiding that ugly barrel protrusion beyond the rail (depending on length of rail, had to mention this for you in particular). You're gonna try to argue any aspect you can against me now, even after reading my prediction.

    @@exhaustus7437 So a long explanation proving nothing. Nice. As someone that owns suppressors and ARs I fully understand what you are saying, I also understand it's just dumb. A suppressor being "over barrel" doesn't make it better and makes it even longer and heavier most of the time. The only reason any suppressor was ever made that way was for barrel alignment and to keep it concentric. Maybe you mean integral but that's not the same thing either. It just won't work the way you think it will. You don't want the blast going backwards into the can because the buildup would be insane.

    @@ZboeC5 i believe he wants a 30 cal version to run on a lr308 or similar platform as well as the ability to run it on a 556 platform. Which i fully support. Would be a gem on a ak or lr platform.

    The build up ruins barrel harmonics! At first it dose not effect accuracy. As that carbon builds up you will see an accurate rifle start to shoot not so nice groupings.

    Very cool technology. But with a shorter service life, generally worse performance, higher level of maintenance, and a higher price tag…I’ll stick to my conventional cans. Printing - or sintering - is supposed to reduce overhead, reduce labor, and reduce cost, not increase it. One day I suppose.
