Before moving to Ottawa, we thought Toronto must have more job openings. Surprisingly, Ottawa wins in both my husband’s and my majors, higher pay and more opportunities.

A lot of job opportunities in Ottawa for Healthcare. I can't speak to exact numbers but there are 3 major hospitals

@@nickpolegatoRE And this is why no one like realtors, stop spreading lies to make more sales please.... Yes you pay Quebec taxes if you live in Gatineau, which are greater than Ontario, but its not close to "double the tax"... If you are implying that you are paying Quebec and Ontario taxes, this is 100% wrong and you should know better if you are going to give advise to people. Houses are half the prices, private school for kids is 90% cheaper, day care is cheaper, you get money for having kids, municipal tax is cheaper, pharmacy is cheaper, utilities are cheaper. If you are a higher earning DINK couple yes the income tax difference may be worth it, otherwise nope. There are other reasons to live in Ottawa instead of Gatineau (For example, you prefer to live in the city versus a semi-crappy suburb, or you don't want to send your kids to school in french) but financailly, Gatineau is better for >90% of the public

Ottawa is a great city.
