Ott’s Garage | How To Ned Rig

Спорт

Do you like the Ned rig? It’s not my favorite thing but it sure does work at times. It will catch really big fish too at the right time and place. Here’s a few tips on how to rig and fish this simple fish catcher.
For any of the gear I use all season long you can get it here: www.basspro.com/SearchDisplay...

We often try to over-complicate things. You aren't the only hardheaded one! Thanks for the backstory and the tourney catches.

I just started watching your videos a couple of months ago, and I've enjoyed them so very much. It's like listening to a friend explain something to me, very clear, concise, and informative. Thank You

Couldn't agree with you more. Some of the guys that put out this type of video does way to much talking about stuff that kinda pretains to whatever they are talking about. Semper Fi from an old Marine

I’ve been fishing jig heads for bass for a long time, but I always only just use like a larger crappie jig, and I have used a lot of Charlie Brewer slider heads and just finished them off the bottom. For the longest time, I cannot bring myself to buy the nerd heads mainly because I don’t like stocking a bunch of different tackle, and I also couldn’t understand that the jig head would make a difference , but after fishing, the net has for an extended period of time, I truly do believe the z man mushroom head makes a world of difference

Thanks for the good info. I caught my first fish on an OG Tiny today. It was a Rainbow Trout, but it's still a fish. I just finished setting up a pole for Ned Rigs and I can't wait to catch my first bass on one.

I always thought it was pronounced “finicky” worm. You’re the pro though with the sponsorship and intel

Recently returned to fishing but back in the day I fished a lot of slider worms. That's real similar to swimming a light ned rig back to the boat. 🙂

Ive heard people say they wont throw it cause it catches small fish....ive caught some hawgs including my PB smallmouth at 5 10 ounces. Yes, you catch alot of small fish, but if you like to fish for numbers, you cant beat the ned rig!

the only knock i have with the ned rig is the health of the fish..bc alotta times they gulp and swallow it. i hate it,i always try everything i can do to get it removed w/o causing the fish trauma so they can live on. For tht one reason ive moved away from using it but i do still fish the bigger sized mag shroomz.

What is the coldest water that you will use the ned rig? And how early can I can start the use it? I live in East Tennessee and I fish South Holston and Watauga lake which are bother pretty clear and deep. Just wondering when to start throwing it in the spring. Thanks and Stay safe out there on and off the water. Semper Fi from an old Marine

Ott, How do you fish the bait after casting it out?

Im not Ott, but i will answer your question. I usually let it sink to the bottom, and move it slowly across the bottom like fishing a texas rig. Ive seen people throw it out and let it sink, then retrieve it very fast off the bottom with sucess too.
