Otis is a king, rollin' and tumblin' the blues with such perfect drama and grit, peppered with touches of mad humor. Zam! Some of his vocal timbre & tonalities, esp. at the end, sound similar to Michael Gazzo in The Godfather II: "...and you're drinking uhh, what's he drinking, ... champagne, champagne cocktails and you're passing judgment on how I run my family." Who's on the skins?

Il migliore, Number One, la più bella versione di sempre
Thanks Kenneth via Otis Spann 💖 🎹
I want to cry.
Just wonderful
Thanks for posting! Otis Spann was one of the best blues pianists ever.
I never heard such great talent
Love It. Real Hurt. Real Blues.
this is prolly my 1000th view of this vid thx again for posting it
I remember being familiar with a few other versions of this and thinking "something about this song would sound great with Otis Spann's voice". Look what I've found!
Otis has been a favorite of mine for years. Few can make a piano sing as well as he does. A talented musician.
this is pure mesmerising..........just awesome
I've got the DVD and I can get tired listening this song in particular... I fell it so deep.
wonderful
I feel my rich very rich with this blues legendes awesome.Thank you so much.

This is the TRUTH!!!!
Ive heard this song done by alot of people but this is the only one that hits my heart and it brings tears every time. So much soul
so beautiful and humorous..classic blues!
One of my favourites. Otis Spann is definitely one of the guys who inspired me hte most.
Very talented musician. Unfortunately he died before he could reach his highest potential. Otis was married to my cousin, Lucille and I just learned of this a few months ago.
wow, I thought I loved all the great divas who've sung this, but his version just left me feeling -wow!!
Even on Mt Blues Olympus this incredible version is revered. Otis is The Blues Personified.Tell me what I'm talkin' about !!

I just listened to Jimmy Witherspoon’s version. Unfortunately, those people who don’t know have not heard the best version.
RIGHTEOUS!!
what a fantastic track! just heard this for the first time, the word talent doesnt do him justice.
so so nice....
this really touches my heart. He's one of the greatest musicians.
First time hearing this! I was blown away. His pianp playing then when he sang I almost fell through the floor.
Otis will live forever in our hearts. 22 thumb-downs?? If you don't like this music then move on! YT makes it too easy to show disrespect anonymously.

You heard 'em. Please do feel free to move on up the road if you cannot embrace this heartfelt master singin' a heartfelt tune. I discovered Otis almost 50 years ago, turned my axe into a blues tool and even learned to copy best I can, Mr. Jellyroll Baker on piano. So, respect.

We can only assume they didn't like the guy introducing Otis.
Go get 'em Otis. Always in our hearts.
Excellent
Great honest music played with feeling from the heart and soul. What more could you want? Thanks for uploading this video man!
bless his soul ♥ still such a warm figure- and a genius musician- for us here- now- in this new crazy world . Tks for sharing ~"jen"
Really wish I had this version on CD or spotify. I really love his voice, and the only recoeding I have where it's got this level of gravel and sadness have a lot of electric guitar and harmonica on it, which is nice but gives it a real different feel
Listen to him on buddy Guy's A Man and His Blues. "play it, Otis!"
I love this.....this is food for my soul
One of the best boogie woog blues tunes I ever did see

no me canso de escucharlo, lamentablemente murio muy joven, era exelente pianista y musico
It is too bad that we have none of characters like Otis now, that we have to live on the past. I love to listen to this big artist.
@ver2426 --That's why Otis Spann Memorial Field (Ann Arbor, MI) is Otis Spann Memorial Field...
Sick
blues....blues...blues.. (Y)
Wonderful string bass playing. A deep woody sound as a foundation. And those driving but understated brushes.

We don't see the upright bass player in the video - wonder if it could be Willie Dixon?
❤
I've always loved his singing, when I was a kid I wondered why he didn't sing more of his tunes.
CLASSIC, This is how you do it, not loud guitars playing at a million miles an hour or shouting singers etc its all about time and the feel, watch and learn, watch and learn.
I mean this is the real stuff here people this is 100% blues it will NEVER get any better than this!
I already thought Otis Spann was a genius in his playing, but now that I'm really learning to play this song, I am shocked by the brilliance of the guy. Rest in peace, Otis. You'll be playing forever in our hearts.
I don’t know what to say! I have the fucken chills!
