The reason she wasn't screaming well in this was because she was sick. She says so in one of the other videos from the DVD. I've seen Otep live three times and she sounded brutal as fuck every single time, so it's definitely not because she uses effects.

yeh somtimes she sounds a little wierd, but on the other side, when she does those lovely screams sometimes(and she got very nice clean parts too live:D), i really love this preformance, well im a really big fan of her too, i love all her "sounds" haha =D

Its all live growls. Though I don't think she is fake. She may have hurt her voice or only be able to do some growls in a studio at a time. So live growls won't be great but at least she is real and clean vocals are good aside from being out of breath which is normal.

So I'm vaguely familiar with this band and it's because of this song...Can anyone tell me what happened to the original guitarist from the Ghostflowers video? The guy with the medium length long hair. Was shocked to see about a 70 year old dude up there on guitar.

@phoinex13 i understand you, but you have to think that they, as a band, are having concerts already established long time before the actual concert, and this is more then obvious that she is really sick... i dind't think she planned this... anyway, is more then awsome that she was capable to get on that stage and make that loong show.... and it was good, considering the circumstances

i agree completely. i have been a huge OTEP fan for about eight years and i will even agree her voice sounds like shit. Its as if she doesnt even care. What ever happened to my Otep Shamaya from 2002-2004? GOD I MISS THOSE DAYS!!!

I think, it's played a little bit too fast at the beggining. And she has got destroyed voice. In some moments it sounds horrible. And, yes, she must be tired. But it's the fact of VOICE, not tired. But, anyway, cool song, nice show and awesome bass player! Cheers.

Otep has a more distinctive voice than Angela Gassow. Angela just sounds like a man and that's it She's cool tho but Otep has that smokey, seductive voice and she can play with with it more but Gassow can growl better.

The difference here is weither or not she is using effects her growls live are drastically below par. Arch enemy on the other hand live has amazing live growls

Love Otep to death, but they (Shamaya, specifically) don't seem to do that well live. I'm sure it's the heat and intensity and doing a dozen songs in a row and all that, but she's not a great live performer as I've seen in videos. I've yet to see the band myself, I'm afraid.

meh. I rather listen to the CD.

The band is kicking ass, but she mostly sounds like shit live.
