Basically, the lyrics are totally absurd. The author, Daniil Kharms (Даниил Хармс) was a Russian avant-garde poet who refused to follow the "socialist realism" stalinist style and started to write poems for children. This one is a story about a street cleaner who philosophically smokes a hand rolled cigarette and thinks about the sense if cleaning streets when it snows etc. Totally crazy. The lyrics are synchronized with the video in a very perverse way,. My Russian is not perfect but I'm rolling on the floor...

The story continues with some video related comments :-) So, as it snows, the street cleaner is blinking, then closing his eyes, falls asleep on a bank [here, street cleaners are sitting on a bank] and gets covered with snow. Children are passing by and see a kind of snowman with a broom [here, the student sees the ginger mustache guy], so they have an idea to hit him on the cap or pinch him in the nose. [here, the mustache guy wipes his nose with the student's glove and the student hits the mustache guy]. Of course, in an instant, the snowman roars, jumps up and shouts in Russian... [here, the duel begins]. Another example of the video and lyrics synchronization: The song starts with "In furcoat, cap and jacket" [close up to the face of a street cleaner in furcoat, cap and jacket]. Etc.

Love these vids and music ! Absolutely wonderful ! Bal’shoye spasiba! I live in Astoria Oregon at the mouth of the Columbia river , where she empty’s into the Pacific Ocean!

Dear Joanna, we live and learn. I'm happy you have discovered this clip and liked it. I'm Russian myself but living in Singapore for quite a long time. And I have learned how to appreciate different cultures, their ways of expressing their feelings through music, song and dance. Just lately a guy from Altai mountains sang his folk song to me. Playing this instrument I don't even know the name of it. It's a steel strip attached to a piece of wood. They keep it in the lips and modulate the sound by changing the volume of mouth and throat cavities. Sounds barbaric but it's beautiful. I did not understand a word of it but the music, the song put me under some kind of a spell. I felt like I was flying like an eagle above mountains. He saw the effect it had on me and gave me his instrument as a present. I gave him a deep bow of respect and appreciation. Wishing you all the best!

У меня бабушка родом из Польши,она была балерина,а вторая бабушка родом из Тверской губернии,по матери. Россия и русский этнос простирается более чем на 10000 км! На территории этой проживают много народностей,со своей культурой,и русские со всеми ужились,вобрали в себя часть этноса других культур и передали другим народам свою культуру.Поэтому,когда вы слышите сегодня этническую русскую музыку,там есть элементы и Латышской,Кавказской,возможно Польской национальной музыки... и всё это русские! Во время всех отечественных войн,за эту территорию отдавали свои жизни люди,которые были по национальности,буряты,эвенки,чуваши,чеченцы,дагестанцы,латыши,белорусы,и все они понимали,что они "русские",потому что у нас у всех общая родина.Отдельно от славян,эти народы не смогли бы существовать как отдельный этнос....И поэтому Русские сегодня первые враги для тех,кто хочет всех раздробить,разделить и поработить!

А я ТНТ и первый канал вообще не смотрю. Только РТР Россия-1,Россия24,Звезда.
