OT Rex - ADHD Overview

Hi guys!
I've wanted to make this video for a while since I work with so many kids with Autism who also present with or have an ADHD diagnosis. Hope it's informative. The CDC has great breakdowns of all these data I shared.

Truly, I appreciate that your videos are not like the 1 billion other youtube/SM videos of talking heads/faces trying to get your attention for likes and comments.

Can you please make videos on different kinds of splints and their use. Musculoskeletal system related hands and upper extremity splints. Please if you can 😊

OT Exam Prepper has great resources on this! Unfortunately, you have to pay for video access, but he has a podcast too.

Thanks this video was helpful! I’ve just been offered a job as an OT working with ADHD children and this gave me a starting point of things to think about! Would be great to link in with you to discuss and share ideas!

Hey which OT assessments can you use for ADHD and which ones are just too challenging for them to focus on?

If we had to choose from a wiggle cushion on the chair or replacing the chair with a yoga ball in the classroom, which one is typically preferred?

Based on experience from fieldwork level 2, wiggle cushions were generally less distracting for other children in the classroom and preferred by teachers. Depends on kids ages of course but for our elementary school kids who were integrated into general ed classes wiggle cushions worked the same for their sensory regulation as the yoga balls but were less distracting to their peers. But definitely depends on child's needs and teacher collaboration. :)
