Osteoporosis treatments for women

Osteoporosis is the most common type of bone disease. This condition has become an important issue in people with a history of cancer due to factors such as toxic effects of chemotherapeutic agents on bone, prolonged use of glucocorticoids in certain cancer therapies, treatment-induced hypogonadism, and old age. Medicines for osteoporosis can lower your chance of breaking a bone. All the medicines in this video can prevent breaks in the small bones of the spine. Some of the medicines also can prevent breaks in the hip or wrist. There are different kinds of medicines for osteoporosis. Each kind of medicine has different risks.
Women need to make sure they get enough calcium and vitamin D for bone health, especially after menopause. Falling can cause broken bones. Exercise can help prevent falls. It is good for bone health, muscle strength, and balance.
This is an educational video about osteoporosis in women after menopause. The video contains an overview of the health care condition, description of the treatment options, patient stories, a description of the harms/risks and benefits of various options, and a review of key facts.

There are natural supplements that you can take. I do not get along well on drugs and I just stay away from them. I have not taken drugs for osteoporosis, haven't taken drugs for at least 30 years other than an occasional Advil. Check out the health food stores in your area, ask questions and google what they recommend before you buy. I don't eat wheat, sugar or dairy. I eat lots of green vegetables.
