i agree john williams is one of the greatest, but my personal preference is hans zimmer, he takes the soul to unknown realms i kid you not. A R Rahman is good too but sometimes, part of his pieces dont resonate with the overall medley, for ex look at the first half of this medley its great but then the guitars fuck it up in the end. hans zimmer is like a tesla never heard anything like it, 21st century mozart!

People may think the credit should go to the Sitarist alone, but the truth is one who's good with the instrument shud be able to play this. BUT to create this by writing every note and swaram in exact tempo and scale is what probably qualifies for an Oscar! Lots of respect to ARR, gift of India to the world :)

I think both are equally responsible for the magic. Some artists are great at creating ideas in music and enjoy the process of giving it life, and some find joy in playing an instrument alone and reach the mastery in it. Only a few people can master both.
