Guy deserves the Isaac

I love that when he becomes Marc, his eyes are half-lidded, and when he becomes Steven, they are fully open to add to his wide-eyed innocent appearance. It really changes the overall look of his face and it's noticeably different. Not to mention the shy stammering British accent to counter Marc's tough guy American accent. What a brilliant choice. Hoping there's a season 2!

Me after episode one: This Steven guy is kinda sad to watch, good thing later we’ll get to see his alter beat up bad guys or else I’d feel really bad for him! Me after episode five: Marc and Steven need a hug and so do I.

Oscar Issac better get nominated for best actor at the Emmy’s!!! I went in to Moon Knight thinking that I would at most really like this show, now I freaking LOOOOVE this show and his performance is honestly one of the best ones not just in the MCU but one of the best I have ever seen.

I'm so glad they let him do a non traditional London accent. So many actors either do a a straight RP or the most aggressive cockney I've ever heard. Oscar actually sounds like someone I would hear on the tube.

@@arabchristraeger All I mean by non-traditionally is that it's not a British accent you traditionally hear in mainstream media. It's actually a super common accent among middle-class Londoners especially those from immigrant backgrounds or those who live in areas with lots of immigrants. I'll give a brief description of the main groups of accents in London nowadays. You may have heard of something called MLE which is "multicultural london english", it's basically a blanket term for accents that have had a lot of African, Indian, Carribbean, Eastern European, and Cockney influence. Stormzy and Omigos are good examples of people with this accent. There's also the Cockney accent, but this is actually becoming increasingly uncommon, being supplanted by MLE and RP. I would say the best example of someone with a modern Cockney accent is Rob Beckett. Finally there's RP which is the accent a lot of people incorrectly call "the Queen's English". Though the Queen does speak an archaic 1950s form of RP, the RP you'll hear on the BBC nowadays is actually a very different thing. Very few people these days and even fewer young people actually speak like the Queen. Finally, there's the accents that don't really fit into these categories very nicely, many people speak with accents that have some MLE influence but draw mainly from RP, some (especially those from India and South Africa) have accents that lean more towards the Queen's "heightened RP" since the educational system in those countries preserves some aspects of RP that England itself has since lost. What Oscar Isaac is doing in the show is an accent with some Cockney influence, but a good deal of RP and heightened RP as well. To Americans (and many British journalists who live in relatively isolated RP bubbles) this sounds very funny, almost like a mockery of a Cockney accent, but it's a very real accent and many people speak with it. I really applaud him for sticking up for not doing the usual cut and dry RP.

I didn't think it was possible for me to love Oscar Isaac any more than I already do....and then I watched Moon Knight.

I didnt know who he was and genuinely thought he was British. Such a good actor

Episode 5.. Oscar deserves an award for his performance. So emotionally deep. Probably one of the best episodes of any show ever written. So much talent on one show. Visuals were amazing!

What's even more amazing with his acting is that even without hearing the voice, you can tell who's in control with the body just by his "facial expressions"

I just finished crying and watching Episode 5 of Moon Knight. My eyes are swelling and I have a class tomorrow at 7AM. I'm a mess. Literally. But still, Oscar did a REALLY great job in portraying both Marc and Steven's character. Oscar Isaac is a great fit for Moon Knight 💕💕

@@slimmz2329 Well for me its a pretty big deal. I have been in some kind of trauma (Not similiar to Marc) but I know that feeling and sometimes I wanna escape for a little while or just don't wanna let people know about it...

I knew he was a good actor, but Moon Knight has convinced me he may be one of the great actors of our generation.

“At least two that we know of” Oscar just revealed that Jake Lockley was indeed in the 5th episode with the bandages and that a third personality is presumably true.

His acting deserves so much recognition; his accents changes are so smooth and his emotion is so easily translated through the screen. Will definitely be watching more of him!

I love how we all collectively agree that Oscar Isaac is incredibly amazing with his performance and that he deserves to get nominated for this role.

I've always found him insanely attractive but hearing him talking about his kids and being a dad....he is a perfect man 😍

He is absolutely killing it in this role. Such an amazing actor he's really making the show something special.

I just love the amount of love Oscar Isaac is getting. I remember six year old me having a wee crush on Joseph from the Nativity Story only to realise years later that it was him! This guy has been special since the start of his career and it’s great to see everyone unanimously agreeing he’s a class act (and a snack too!). Can’t wait to see him play Francis Ford Coppola … but Disney, seriously, this guy can LEAD a Star Wars movie. Don’t just let the Sequel era be forever known as an embarrassing misfire. If the prequels were resigned to that fate we wouldn’t have gotten the Clone Wars, Rebels, Bad Batch or even this upcoming Kenobi series. I’m telling you, Oscar Isaac could lead a whole new, uncharted era in Star Wars. Just let it happen!

Just finished episode 5 of Moon Knight. Oscar Issac puts an effort to showcase his emotions in his performance. That was one of his best performance. Whether he is sad, emotional, angry or happy, the way he is showing a lot of emotions in his acting is convincing and unbelievable. He is an incredible actor. I have become his huge fan.

Oscar Isaac, Ethan Hawke, May Calamawy, Mohamed Diab & all the team that worked on Moon Knight deserve all the praise they are getting. Such an impactful and amazing show. I miss it already and it’s only been a week since the last episode. :”>

@@jackjude yeah.. Check out some of the older episodes. Seth used to wear a suit everyday (probably following tradition in the late night talk show business ) . After the pandemic hit he adopted a more casual dressing style and has thankfully stuck to it even after audiences returned (except when David letterman was on the show one day. probably out of adulation?) I kinda feel he's gotten a lot more "real" with his comedic style since then.. Not sure if anyone else feels that.

He has a beautiful singing voice😭😭😭come on kids😭

I have so much respect for these guys! OI just said he got the script for episode 1 & 5 and he still wanted to do the show! Man this guy does not get intimated by acting challenges.

Don’t feel bad Oscar I used to cry when my mom (who was a fabulous soprano) would sing, too. But I grew up eventually and we sang together a lot. I think it’s just overwhelming for kids.

I really love the series and his portrayal of Marc and Steven. He is so great at everything

I like that Seth mentioned Inside Llewyn Davis as one of Oscar's works. Because I don't think that many people really saw that, but Seth then obviously like it.

I’m afraid he won’t get the praise he deserves for his Moon Knight performance just because it’s “part of the MCU”. Usually when people hear “MCU” they just right it off as superheroes and action and no substance.

While I do understand people like Martin Scorsese’s opinions, I think a lot of them just fail to look past the more fantastical aspects to see the substance beneath, like The Winter Soldier at its core being a character study on Steve Rogers as a man out of time, Starlord being a man who never really grew up and uses humor as a coping mechanism, Doc Strange being a man who valued his life on one skill and when he loses it needs to change his way of life, a young teenager (Peter Parker) forced into a world he’s honestly too young for, even the Thor movies as someone born to be a king but really doesn’t want it. And especially the shows too. WandaVision is a deep reflection on loss and grief, told through the perspective of super powers. (My only problem when WandaVision is the big end CGI fight hut at least we got Vision talking about the ship of Theseus), Falcon and the Winter soldier reflecting on the betrayal of black veterans, living up to legacies etc, Loki a pondering of a honest to god good man who felt the need to be the villain. (Sorry that’s a lot of examples). The MCU shows us what real people would do in these fantastical situations. Yea every movie and show is always setting up a big crossover or something, but within those stories they always manage to convey a message that can relate to a lot of people.
