Ortur Laser Master 2 Pro Assembly Instructions

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

UPDATE: Video shows 2 thumb screws holding the laser but the machine only comes with one.
This is a quick simple guide on how I assembled my new Ortur Laser Master 2 Pro. I thought while I was putting it together I might as well make a video to help others out making the machine.
This is only a video going over the assembly of the machine. A review will follow after I have a chance to really test it out.

    Great instructive video! I wish I came across it earlier. Just got my unit today and had trouble following both the official assembly video and the printed instructions, where each had either partial information or wrong direction / mounting of the frame bars and switches. And if that's not enough, on my unit I had to mount the drag chain small bracket with a single m3x6 screw since my package had one screw short of this kind. And just like others have mentioned here the Y limit switch was mounted the other way too. It took me a while but by looking carefully at the official video and comparing the way the red and black cables are connected on the other switch I just assumed that red goes just below the red switch and black goes in the middle. Watching your video now gave me a déjà vu, as if your instructing voice was playing in my head when I assembled it lol. I even said to myself "be careful not to tighten the screw on the laser unit too much as the acrylic might break! :) Anyway, I came across your video and began watching it to make sure that I didn't forget something. Well made and easy to follow. Thanks for making and sharing. Cheers.

    Great video, thank you. I have ordered a LM2Pro and unboxed it. The side rails have no markings like I have seen in videos. Every video I've seen says to line up the ruler markings on the side rails, but mine are just black anodized aluminum. I sent the laser cutter back for return and just received the new one. It also has no ruler markings on the side. Now I'm wondering if I'm crazy and somehow overlooking the rulers, or if there shouldn't be any in my model, or what. I'd appreciate any insights. Thanks!

    Are the support pieces metal? Like the feet and the box around the motherboard? If they are then it’s the Pro. If they are not then it’s the Laser Master 2. If it is the pro to be perfectly honest I find the markings on the rails to be useless. I can’t imagine anyone actually using it to line up anything. It’s much more useful to have a grid on a spoil board to line everything up. If you look at my other video on the Pro I have a grid that is made in LaserGrbl that I give out for free.

    Are you not getting any power to the unit at all? When you plugged in the power cord did you see a little spark? It's actually normal to see a spark and this would at least let you know the power brick works. I would also just try to unplug the motherboard wire and then plug it back just to make sure it is seated correctly. Other then that you could try to check on the Ortur Facebook group page and see if anyone else is potentially running into the same issue. Wish I could be more of help.

I am sure the locations you described for installation of the M3x6mm screws added up to 6 screws, I only have 4. By any chance were 2 of the screws you stated really M3x5mm screws? You seem to have a long wire that runs across the entire frame. I don't have that long wire.i presume that one goes to the laser. I still have one female 8 pin connector that comes from the chassis the laser is attached to and a male 4 pin connector to which I have nothing to connect. The 3 wire terminal you connected to the laser with the ground wire, that extends from the long wire that runs across the frame, correct because the only 3 wire harness I have extends from the female 8 pin connector I described earlier.all others have 4 or 5 wires..the laser connector is male 4 pin. One thing I am currently struggling with is to understand how to cut vs how to engrave. There is a material reference here: ortur.net/pages/materials-reference and an example is "10000mm/min,S1000". Although10000mm/min is clear, what is not clear to me is S1000. How does this translate in LaserGRBL material settings? For example engraving in plywood from LaserGRBL it says 3000 mm/min 80% power... so numbers are not matching and I am confused.. Your videos are the best, it would be great to have an understanding from you :-)

  • @BusterBeagle3D

    @BusterBeagle3D

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hello. I'm not sure if you can really engrave all that well at 10000mm per minute and I feel like their material reference is a bit exaggerated on the actual speeds. It really depends on what you are engraving on so you may need to tweak your settings. The S1000 number means 100% laser power. S800 stands for 80% and so on. In LaserGRBL you will see a setting where a variable laser power between 0-1000. That means that your laser will fluctuate between 0-OFF and 1000-Full power when engraving an image. I hope this make sense. Also when you look at the settings in the current version on LaserGRBL they presets might be for the Laser Master 2 and not the PRO which might be why you see differences. The lasers are different between the 2 and the 2 PRO.

    The laser that came with mine looks different. I cannot loosen any of the screws to secure the grounding wire because the top of the laser has been redesigned. Their live chat just instant replies with we are on break B.S. I've already boxed this piece of crap back up and am waiting for someone there to tell me what I need to do to send this back and give me a full refund. What a hunk of garbage!

    @@brianthone7184 I am sorry that has been your experience with this machine and with the company. I have not had to contact their customer service so can't attest for anything about it. I do know however that Oct 1-7 is a national holiday in China since I have run into other communication issues with other Chinese companies at that time. It's not an excuse but also not unheard of. I hope they process your return and refund soon.

    This is the way it is just slightly different with the current production model. The Y limit switch should be mounted upside down from what is shown in the video. Also keep very attentive to the orientation of the rails, the ticks should be on the inside with the numbers on the outside. You should have a corner where the 0 ticks on the X and Y axis meet. Don’t give up! If there’s anything you’re struggling with drop another comment, I’ll do my very best to help. This machine isn’t very simple to get together but it’s well worth it!
