ORTIGIA, SICILY. The little island on the COAST OF SICILY WORTH VISITING. Traveling in ITALY.

Ortigia, Sicily!
Welcome to the small and historic island of Ortigia. Ortigia is a small island which is in the historical center of the city of Syracuse, Sicily. When I got to this island, I had no idea what to expect. I had never really heard of it before. After 3 days on this little small island, I didn't want to leave. It's full of history, cafes, restaurants, incredible culture, food markets, wonderful people, and a small town welcoming energy.
What to do in Ortigia? In this video I highlighted some of my favorite places to eat and drink. Many of the great bars and restaurants are tucked away and that is what makes this place ever so charming.
How many days to spend in Ortigia? We spent 3 days in Ortigia which is more than enough time to see the entire island. You can actually walk around the entire island in just a few hours. If you want to have a more relaxed long stay, visiting your favorite cafe each morning, 8 to10 days is a good lengthy time here. It's a part of Sicily I highly recommend exploring.
I would love to learn more about and how you like to travel. What places do you plan to travel to?

Thank you for the time and effort put into making these videos. Please share recommended places to stay in Ortigia. I can't decide whether to stay in Ortigia or the center of Syracuse. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for your great videos! Great tips too! Very helpful as I’m planning my trip to Sicily next fall! I’m not sure if I’d drive as I would prefer public transportations to avoid headaches with finding a parking etc. Done it in Tuscany and it wasn’t a great experience after all! I’m wondering watching a few videos of Sicily if it’s doable taking public transportations to visit the both parts of Sicily or not? My guess is that some towns won’t be accessible by trains or by buses. Thank you so much for your great videos that I really enjoyed and made me want to visit Sicily!

I totally like arancini which by the way the spelling isn’t important! I discovered them in Naples and Rome last October and I loved them!

For anyone wondering what the food is at 0:15, it is called an arancino (a breaded ball with rice and sauce indside)sometimes it also can have some meat and cheese (if you want) and they come in many different shapes and sizes.
