Hello everyone! More combat patrols for me to review very soon! Note: Small mistake on my part. The custodes battleforce + the combat patrol have three allarus custodian squads between them, not just two! So you actually get to 2000 points. I actually made two mistakes. The Orks combat patrol obviously has the Nob on Smasha Squig as well! So the box is at 495 points! Thanks to everyone in the coments for pointing this out! It's honestly a great time to get Custodes. Buying an old CP and a new one will net you a great, varied start (or as varied as it gets for Custodes' plastic).

Custodes tanks and some of their infantry choices really need to make their way over from resin to plastic.

I have a sneaking suspicion the new Custodes box is going to become the Grey Knights Combat Patrol 2.0. Everything you'd want from the army comes from the box, and you buy multiple copies to kit them out as needed. Hell, you could probably do some kitbashing with the Blade Champions as well and turn him into other captains.

You’re forgetting about the squighog boyz nob. I suspect he will be part of the unit now rather than a separate character choice, which is why he wasn’t explicitly mentioned in the Sunday preview.

Funny enough, I think the Beasty Boyz in the Ork box wouls best serve wayward AoS players

I am getting the old and new combat patrol and also the battleforce to start new is there anything other models I need to get other then forge world

The Vertus Preators are basically still in the timeout box from how good they were in the last 2 editions. Basically they have no synergy in their Datasheets, their weapons are underwhelming, they are no more durable than normal Custodians, you have to take them in smaller squads than you take infantry, and they don’t have a character to lead them that makes up for any of their shortcomings. All their abilities are related to advancing, where they can’t use any of their weapons. To top it all off, they are as expensive or more expensive than their normal infantry counterparts. It’s just a bad deal. They need a major rework to even feel good on a casual level. I have 6 of them and I don’t like using them because of all the reasons mentioned above. If they have them assault on their guns or gave them the ability to advance and charge, they would be viable.

You vorgot 1 squot of terminates in the costodian combadpatrol +Battelforce Box. Ther are 2 in Battelforce and 1 in combad patrol so you get over 2000 points from both boxes xd

So disappointed they didn't make an Ork Combat Patrol with a trukk 😮‍💨

The new one seems to be aimed at pushing the Snakebite part of Orks because I'm guessing that's what they have the biggest pile of sprues for at present and they need to earn back the investment in their molds.

They're also removing vehicles from Combat Patrol to make them easier to balance against eachothers.

Yeah I think GW is fine with transports and vehicles that can't carry the game on their own like Redemptor Dreadnoughts and such.

I was hoping for Killa Kans personally, but I can absolutely see the value in getting Trukks discounted!

Mir gefallen beide CPs. Custodes habe ich zwar über 3k Punkte und brauche wirklich nicht noch mehr davon, aber die Beast Snaggas CP is perfekt um meine Beast Snagga Ork Starter Box auszubauen. Die Custodes BF is ok, wenn man was zum Komplettieren seiner Armee braucht, ansonsten eher "meh". Für die Ork BF gilt das selbe.

Ich glaube, das ist alles ausnahmslos für Neueinsteiger designt worden, deshalb sind die Boxen für uns eher meh. Generell ist die Kombi zwischen Combat Patrol und Battleforce aber ganz cool, wenn man das Geld hat.

Rules for the new custodes CP are absolutely terrible! When do you think you will do a review? You should come up with some rule changes to make them more competitive, I can’t see them winning any games under the current rules

A disappointing box because it's hard even with a great paint job to make the Beast Snagga Boyz feel like anything other than updated Snakebite Boyz.

I've heard that sentiment from a lot of Ork players. Making it all look cohesive as a non-Snakebites player seems to be a challenge.

I don't like the new Ork CP. It serves only one subtheme of Orks, and one I am - in terms of models - not even a huge fan of. And it is all pretty much monopose stuff only. I don't know, maybe this is a nice thing for people just starting out and absolutely fascinated by the Beast Snagga style... but not for me.
