ORKNEY by campervan | An INCREDIBLE Island road-trip | VanLife Travel Guide
Join us for a road-trip around the Orkney Islands in our Campervan, as we explore the islands unique history and wildlife. From ancient ruins of The Ring of Brodgar, Scara Brae to the Brough of Birsay. Or the beautiful powerful, rugged coastline of Hoy, as well hike to the Old Man of Hoy, Enjoy the beautiful Rackwick Beach and explore the Dwarfie Stane.
After that we take our campervan to the island of Sanday, explore Quoyness Chambered Cairn and wildlife on Sanday Island. And finally, we search for wildlife such as Orcas and Dolphins off the shore of Orkney
After spending time here, one thing becomes clear, you won’t ever visit another place like the Orkneys.

Just. Stunning. Absolutely gorgeous to watch, and to get to see both new and familiar places. Orkney's one of those places that gets under your skin. Looking forward to the next episode! Ps, love Frank bolting along the beach, then just toppling over! 😂 he's such a hoot! 🎉

We loved it there, the amount of neolithic ruins are just ridiculous! And that's Frank's favourite trick on the beach 😂, rolls around and scratches his back in the sand. Bloody nightmare to get off him!
Wow!! So wild and beautiful. Definitely on the bucket list. Lovely to hear a cuckoo too. Haven’t heard one in years. Thanks for the vlog, safe travels ❤.

So nice to hear Cuckoos! There were a few instances up on Orkney, but also one Skye where we heard their calls in the morning and night. Super peaceful!
Lovely❤

Orkney is a beautiful place!
Loved Hoy and especially Rackwick Bay. The coach parties that we seem to meet on the mainland don't seem to go there. The Scarpa Flow museum on Hoy is amazing.

Agreed Hoy/Rackwick was our favourite part! We didn't manage to get to the museum (Rackwick was too distracting!), but we heard it's really good!
Another great video guys,,👍👍

Thanks for watching! We were in Orkney in early-mid June. Bit of sunshine, bit of cloud, no rain. That's good conditions in Scotland 😂
Love your video❤

Good question! The van moooves in the wind, but we visited Shetland, Orkney and L&H in spring/summer, so the winds weren't bad, thankfully. When it did get windy, we'd head a bit further inland for cover, or just suck up a bad night's sleep! We'd be reluctant to go in the winter due to this reason, we were just on mainland Scotland and when it got super windy and stormy we had to drive further inland to find shelter/cover. The islands don't have much cover from the coast unfortunately
